Big changes are here.

My Account is the heart of your GOG.com experience. It's the one place that's 100% yours, and the place you always go to download your games and manage the entire library.
Starting today, your My Account is completely new - remade and redesigned from scratch to better support our growing library of games and many of your biggest requests. Aside from every usability fix we could think of, we've also introduced brand new tools to keep your library organised, and new social features to stay in touch with your friends.

The list of new features is long, but you can see the whole thing on our forums. The most important highlights include:

--Support for friends lists and chat.
--Shared wishlists.
--Advanced filtering and custom tags for your library.
--A new, detailed order history.
--Accessible game changelogs.

We're sure that these new changes will greatly improve your overall user experience on GOG.com, and we can't wait to hear what you think on the wishlist and right here in the comments!

Gilozard: 1) Where did my gift codes go? This is seriously irritating. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I need that page back.

xenocidic: Under Orders and Settings
Thanks for trying, but that is not super helpful. Which of the many tabs and dropdowns do I need to look in?

GOG keeps taking 2 steps forward, 1 step back. This is an overall improvement, but it really smells like the testers got too close to the system and stopped being able to spot the usability flaws and new user problems.

EDIT: Someone else answered. GOG community is awesome. :)

If it looks too crowded, and it probably does, click on "Orders History" and untick everything except "Unredeemed Gifts".

Gearmos: It's a bit hidden: Account -> Orders & Settings -> Orders history -> Unredeemed Gifts.
Thanks, found it!

Looks like we have to unselect everything else instead of just clicking on the desired option? *facepalm* GOG, fewer clicks are better. This is well known.

Every time I run into something like this I want to go fix it, but then I remember I'd need to move to Poland. :/

Found it, thanks.

GOG needs to get someone with a broader understanding of website usability in. They're obviously using a single consultant or theme for all their updates, and while I applaud the desire for consistency the insistence on extra clicks and vague options hidden under menus is highly annoying. GOG's earlier layout was much more upfront and accessible. More features doesn't have to be more confusing.

Tannath: Actually, that's bugged. The tags I had today I already cleared so I can't post a screenshot, but there's two bugs:
1) Even when you do have updated games, the number next to "Updated" is always 0;
avatar
Grargar: Not my experience. When I did have 2 updates today for the additions of the Linux version for Secret Agent and Terminal Velocity, it still showed 2.
avatar
Tannath: 2) When you click on "Updated" to filter them, on top you get "Updated ()" instead of "Updated (X)"
avatar
Grargar: Can't really remember. Will have to look at it next time.
Hum. I had two updates todat, Eador - Masters of the Broken World and Black Mirror 1, and I got this. Maybe my browser is out of date or something then...

... and it is. I'm still running Firefox 37.0.2. Not by much though, so I wonder...

ReynardFox: Why is community an option under the store tab? Shouldn't it be its own tab?
yeah I been wondering about that myself since the Galaxy Alpha.

Tannath: Actually, this one you can. Go to Settings -> Tags and there's a simbol (8 dots in a grid) next to the down arrow when you hover the mouse over the tag, it's a handle to drag it up or down the list.

(I assume this is what you meant with rearrange it)
Ah, thank you, could not figure out what that symbol was supposed to do. And look at that, placing "FAVOURITE" at the top of the tags stack, got it to reappear in the "ASSIGN TAGS" drop-down menu, allowing me to free my games from tags.

I still think that the vanishing of tags is a bug GOG needs to look into, should not be happening, and shouldn't need a random act such as rearranging the tags order for it to reappear.

Djaron: indeed a wise post of his, and he was nice too because there were still a few more issues he spared GOG from, imho.
Anyway regarding sorting, just a simple "by official initial game release date" would solve soooo many problems

[...]
As I said, I'm giving my feedback as I go, the more time one spends in their account pages and tries things out, the more things stick out. I'm not sure I'm even done with the Game Collection page.
But I'm curious, what issues do you think I left out regarding the Game Collection page?

This is actually the part that bothers me the most.

Grargar: I know what Chamb said. I also know that old games that I shouldn't normally expect updates (Secret Agent and Terminal Velocity), did get a changelog to indicate the additions of a Linux version. What I interpreted Chamb's message as, was that a game won't have a changelog by default, until an update for it gets released. Also, since you can filter your shelf to show ony the updated games, does it really matter if they have a tiny blue dot or not? Just select the game in question, check the changelog and you should know what has been updated. Now, if they release an update without a changelog, then yes, that will be bad.
And with that logic, let's drop all indicators - why bother since one can click on that drop-down menu and filter, right?
Do not forget that the way you prefer to do things is not necessarily the way everyone else will go about them.

If the updated game is for example one on the first row of my game grid, why should I have to click on the drop-down menu and filter for updates when a distinct indicator on it would allow me to notice it right away?

i got the exact games update :)

at first when i saw the 2 updates , i tried to use the updates filter , there were (0); then the second time the 2 where there.

it looks like the filter either take some times when the number of games in the library is quite large , either a bug ; or a problem with the browser i use (FF 37.0.2 too and same pb with FF 38.0 without the freaking DRM)

OK, that might be an example, but what if you have a lot of games updated?
Tags error:
On the drop-down menu entitled MORE in a game window the tag selection disappears (as well as the menu itself) once I move the cursor from ASSIGN TAGS... to the right section (MANAGE TAGS etc.).

I'm using Firefox 38.0 with no add-ons.

Terminal velocity also has a changelog now, Eador still has not.

Are you looking at Eador: Masters of the Broken World or Genesis? Genesis was NOT updated :)

Masters of the Broken World :)

And it indeed has a changelog. You just only can get one changelog at a time! After that you have to reopen the library page. Interesting feature. :P
