So GOG would be left with a choice: Tell 2 million plus potential customers in Japan to **** off by introducing permanent regional restrictions which are not dictated by legal requirements. Or, retain 2 million plus potential customers in Japan and let the publishers know that they too shouldn't be turning their noses up at a growing market.

Every big publisher is welcome here - I love them all and I'm waiting to buy their games. :)

Basically the same story for SEGA and Idea Factory. They refuse to believe that Japan has a PC gaming market. Konami, Capcom, and Square Enix all offer a limited selection of games (often at twice the price, several months after everyone else, and with features missing).

I'm also still not 100% ruling out that "Its True or Not" list, which included some EA games (despite the obvious issues with some of the stuff mentioned). Admittedly I am surprised EA hasn't just released their own DOSBox'd versions of Maxis classics on Origin (like a "Maxis Collection"), but I guess EA's been happy enough with the sales here and GOG's work.
Somebody pointed this out to me and it's looking like it's true: GOG doesn't approach big publishers unless GOG's extremely sure GOG's prepared for the negotiating table, with lots of games.
