amok: Valve is primarily a developer, not a publisher. In fact, they use other publisher (for example EA) to publish their games. Same can be said about Blizzard, but is it different now as they are owned by Activision.
I used the term in the context of licenseholder groups. which also applies to Blizzard since they seem to have the final say about the Blizzard games. there probably is a division between Activision and Blizzard, but not sure to what extent

leon30: SEGA and Bandai Namco will probably come around, but I doubt about the blockbusters of Blizzard and anything from Valve.
I really hope we see the old Warcraft 3 + TFT, StarCraft Brood War and Diablo 1/2 here though, I think it would give some life to their communities.
Blizzard is unlikely to get here. They've updated Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 for the modern OS and started to sell them on their store. They've also made updates to the Battle.net component of those two games, so you can't separate them from their client.

Matruchus: Slitherine
*cringes*
I don't track publishers anymore.
Even those who are already on gog (Ubisoft, Activision, WB, Bethesda) are not releasing games on gog that frequently.
If we go by most desirable according to the Community Wishlist, then the results are:

1. Blizzard (Diablo 1)
2. Gearbox (Homeworld)
3. Microsoft (Freelancer)
4. Konami (Metal Gear Solid)
5. Rockstar (Max Payne)

I deem Gearbox, Microsoft and Rockstar as pretty realistic possibilities. Konami, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have any interest in developing/releasing console/PC games anymore (plus them being Japanese publishers, there would have to be some compromise from GOG's part that would convince them to join). Finally, as for Blizzard, they haven't even published their games on Steam and have their own team that make their older titles compatible with modern systems. So, while the last two aren't impossible, I doubt we'll see them anytime soon. But, you never know.

Edit: If we don't count Gearbox as a big publisher, then we can add Sony (Lemmings) to the list. I'm not sure about that. I mean, if you asked me some years ago, I would say, "Hah no way!" But then, they did publish two formerly-exclusive Playstation games on Steam under their Playstation Mobile Inc label so, again, who knows?

We already have 2K, doesn't it mean Rockstar is already on board?

Good point on Lemmings btw. Having Sony would also mean Psygnosis, a company which holds the rights to many great classic pc games

So the only game that's left from the legacy ones is Star Craft Brood War, I wonder why they don't want to update that one to the new Battle.net, aren't they secure in the sequel? :(
They are working on bringing the original Starcraft on the modern OS, too (that was next on their list).

As there is still interest, they might end up on doing the same for the first two Warcraft games and for the first Diablo game.

I sure hope you were joking with that statement. Japanese publishers on GOG!? Hah! Seriously, even if the lack of DRM wasn't an issue; the fact that GOG sell to Japan *is* an issue.

So GOG would be left with a choice: Tell 2 million plus potential customers in Japan to **** off by introducing permanent regional restrictions which are not dictated by legal requirements. Or, retain 2 million plus potential customers in Japan and let the publishers know that they too shouldn't be turning their noses up at a growing market.

It's almost impossible, but GOG can convince Konami to release Castlevania: Lords of Shadow here. Compare Steam Spy data of LoS series with Metal Gear games. It seems LoS sale rate is very low. GOG release can be profitable for Konami.

Not necessarily. Think of 2K/Rockstar like Activision/Blizzard. Both belong to a bigger company, but each of them self-publish on their own.
Sony.

And not for their consoles stuff, but they own Psygnosis (Lemmings, Discworld, Esctatica and more)
oh look its this subject again

konami
capcom (sf alpha 2 is just a half assed effort)
