....from Steam at January 1st. Nothing has been specified why but it's most likely due to Gearbox taking over the Duke Nukem IP completely.

Because of this situation. The Limited Edition has been added instead.

Fuck. That means all the Duke games will be removed here as well.
I fucking hate Gearbox.
Only from Steam, though. There is no word yet if that will also happen to the version available on 3D Realms' site.
If GOG is going to lose all the Duke Nukem games, will there be a final sale?

You mean like the sale GOG had when they lost the Fallout games?

But if you bought them there you own them forever, right? Or should I start making back-ups?

Sale? The word you're looking for is giveaway.

They cant take those games from your library after theyve been on your account for so long.
Good thing I already own everything except Manhattan Project, which I'm not sure I want anyway.

Well GOG did that giveaway sale for the Fallout classic games, but I don't know if they would do the same thing for the Duke games.

I meant that we don't even know if it will actually be removed from sale there, at all. Also, as far as I know, there is not a single store currently that removes games from your account when they have been removed from the catalog. Not GOG, not Steam, not FireFlower Games, not Shiny Loot, not GamersGate and more than probably none else (it's very possible that 3D Realms might retain their ability to sell the Duke Nukem games through their store, just like they can also sell Commander Keen and Wolfenstein 3D).

Oh jolly fuck Gearbox.

Why not? It's a side-scrolling platformer like Duke Nukem 1+2.
GOG have surprised us numerous times in the past by scoring publishers and games many, including myself, thought they couldn't. But honestly I think that Gearbox might be a tad too douchey for GOG to be able to deal with.

Meh. I'm not a big fan of side-scrolling platformers really, I just happened to play the first one many many years ago and bought it for... nostalgia reasons.
