Hey all! Please visit this thread for more up-to-date information: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/fallout_4_nextgen_update_is_coming_but_will_likely_be_slightly_delayed.

Right now, I can't unfortunately give you anything concrete.

The update proved to be more difficult than expected but we're determined to make it happen. We're actively working with Bethesda to bring it here. No ETA to give you though :/

Darkcore77: Eh honestly we got it coming since we got it for 16 bucks instead of 40

MetalLancer1: That's true. Hopefully it will be worth it!
I guess to, cause the normal discount pricing we got was always 9.99.
I saw today what might explain things. Fallout London will be on GOG now instead of Nexus, mainly because of it's size. But Fallout London had to stop it's release because of next-gen update would break it because it killed so much that had been done using F4SE, then Bethesda did a second next-gen update because their first was so jacked up. Fallout London will use a downgrader because the huge mod is ready to go, they were just waiting on updates from things that might never come, so they went a different way to using a downgrader. I have Fallout 4 on both Steam and GOG, I stopped playing the Steam version because it is just broken. So most likely since GOG is working with Fallout London to release their new fantastic mod, they are not only trying to do the next-gen, but incorporating Fallout London to run with it.
That's my current take on next-gen, and GOG will have it running right, unlike Steam and Bethesda.

Is there any (good) news?

Status reports from time to time would also be very nice if you have to wait months...

Is the update still being worked on at all?

Hello! Yes, we are still working on bringing the update to us. Right now however it's on Bethesda's side. We might have to wait a few weeks more, unfortunately, but the update may have more improvements than it has right now.

Is the situation with the free creation content still the same?

Yes, no changes there.
Hello everyone,

Could someone help me? I've been searching non-stop for about 3 days on how to remove the next-gen update for Fallout 4. Every time I disable the automatic update in GOG Galaxy, it doesn't give me any other option to revert to update 1.10.162 (if I remember correctly, Fallout London supports versions from that one and earlier), and I can't do anything on GOG.com either. Honestly, I'm getting very frustrated, and I appreciate any help from anyone.
Also, all the mods for downgrading the game only work if you have the game on freaking Steam.

I'm curious. What makes the free CC content different from Skyrim? When Skyrim arrived on GOG, it got the free CC content that it got with its next gen update (anniversary edition)? What makes Fallout 4's case different?

I think Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update had used similar file structure as Starfield while the version before the update (version 1.10.162 which is found on GOG) used the old structures. Basically, the .ba2 is different in the Next-Gen Update which is either the same as Starfield or similar. Plus, the number and structure system (used in the Creation Kit) may have changed as well.
I have to wait for those who use mods when I bought the game just to play the update and I have to wait so long?
