I am curious about the dlc situation and lack of combat music. Is this true or just ranting? Gremlion has done a hell of a lot to answer community questions regarding Eador and is clearly passionate about the game, which makes his critisms of the remake all the more alarming.
Some bugs are acceptable, even inevitable with any new release. What wouldn't be acceptable are game breaking issues and cutting content to release later as paid dlcs. I've been looking forward to this release for a while and I'm prepared to give the devs the benefit of the doubt for now.

I'm more care about that could I buy the dlc from GOG after Snowbird release any kind of dlcs?

Yes, that would be incredibly stupid if dlc were only on steam or something.

Rather not see dlc model for this game at all but dev is a paradox fan...

There is music, there is no sound. I think it is funny how they swapped the Genesis' sounds for Broken World's animations. Some things are just bizarre about that game, like when you go to a store and when the store window opens, it replaces the HUD removing the money counter. So you enter a shop and you do not know what your current budget is. How did they come up with this design idea? The IU looks nice and clean, but if you can not see how much make you have when you open a store window then it is not practical, it is wrong Also, why every pop-up description ends with question mark? Were the developers not sure of what all the icons mean? These pop-up when you move mouse over an icon, for example "Ranged Defense", the description is saying it, "Ranged Defense?"! If you hold your mouse a little longer a full description unveils, it says what the icon stands for in detail, so why is this question mark ending every single one description?

I just had a very, very busy week, and had no chance to play the demo any longer than two hours. If I noticed all those things just after barely getting past the main menu... I fear of what awaits me further in game. I want to pay for hot, freshly baked bread, not shapeless pastry! I hate being put in this position, the game looks so interesting, flashy graphics, clean UI, I have been waiting for this for awhile, but it needs a lot more polish.

Edit: Ohh, I forgot to mention animations out of sync. Like a hit... ... ... some time later... victim drops. As I mentioned, I had not much time to test the game, however I trust my machine much more than the game, especially considering the rest.

I've only spent a couple hours in the Beta, but my own sense is that the game needs more polish if it wants to live up to its considerable potential. Snowbird's communications have been spotty at best, but I think they'd be well-served by giving themselves another month or two of beta testing.

They'd have been even better served by announcing this before an encroaching release date. I hope I'm proven wrong. Genesis was a great title and MotBW has the potential to really polish the uncut gem that was the original game. I just hope Snowbird is able to deliver the full polish. They're close, but they're not there yet.

rahal: So, assuming souslov isn't actually lieing to us

Souslov: thanks to immediate response from the beta-testers,
Stream with Souslov: http://www.twitch.tv//riotpixels/b/390861196
18th minute - wall in stone
27:12 -bug with animation on archer. He even joked about it.
He was completely aware of this without beta-tester responses.

rahal: Other than that I don't see any sign that they have been the wrong developer to take eador forward. Looks to me like they've been doing exactly what the game needs and no more (which is a mistake so many make).
Notice, Souslov is silent about postponing in 2012.

If they would have shown game with state of Beta 1 in Feb2012 and said that "we overestimated ourselves and need to postpone game" we, russian community, could accept this.
If they would have shown beta2/3 in Feb2012 and said that they need to postpone game to add multiplayer, I think that I would have preordered game.

But we got lie about "almost ready game", "postpone for multiplayer", beta1 8 months later, constant delays with beta tests and so on.

But whatever, too late to change anything. Though some excuses would be good to hear.

Souslov: - Multiplayer for Genesis - really doubt we can see it in 2013, it's still doable but requires a lot of resourses.
As far as I know (interview with Bokulev, his answers), multiplayer code for genesis is almost ready and main problem was with integration of it into the game (issues with not saving after each player, simultaneous turns and enormous advantage of second player). I really doubt that pushing this would take more than year for dedicated team.

Personally, I'm looking for 3 games in development:
a)Grim Dawn. www.grimdawn.com I bought legendary edition 2-3 years ago after 2 days of reading forum, before they even thought about kickstarter. Now I think that I wouldn't be able to play it as much as I thought I would (like participating in alpha test) due to lack of time, but still think that these money were well spent. These guys are great at showing off own game, accepting errors and speaking with fans.
b)Gemcraft2 http://gameinabottle.com/blog/ Probably best tower defence game in a world, I would gladly buy premium content in it on release. (There is no preordering). This lone dev made regular posts about each milestone during development.
c)Motbw. Well, I already described my opinion. I would buy motbw on sale. Maybe.

Try Eschalon book 1 and book 2. And soon there will be book 3! Those games are made by single person also! book1 is bit more difficult but both games are just plain awesome.

As with motwb im not sure - if they plan dlc then thats the final mistake. I cant accept dlc...
Hi guys,

I have to make an official statement about the DLC policy since there are just to much rumours about. In fact we have no certain plans for DLC and any decision we will make about will be made on community feedbackю Maybe we should go for a traditional add-on, maybe not - we'll see.

I suggest to answer here: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/qa_eador_masters_of_the_broken_world

This topic is basically dead, because it is too late to preorder.

Also, remove ю, don't confuse people. :)

No DLC: DLCs make a game being like a frankenstein. They downgrade the value of a game.
Traditionnal add-ons are usually better integered in the base game.

"DLC" is also used to describe traditional expansions nowadays. In the case of a game like Eador, they're also likely to be the practical option, since micro-content (unless it's purely cosmetic stuff) would only complicate multiplayer balance.
Way I see it, if the beta is still buggy, so what? Obviously any problems that came up in the beta they're just going to fix for the main game release, instead of bothering with updating a beta which will soon be obsolete.

What are you talking about? DLC is pure evil. It never gives good content. A game can have 5-15dlc.. A real game will have 1expansion, 2 at most!

Thats the difference between big content and small rip off. DLC is always - either useless, or mandatory. But in both cases its like 1/5th of the game. Thats why its a rip off!!
So... Any of you, who preordered/ordered just now and played this, is OP's statement true? Is it buggy? And what about the interface/user friendlyness?

Basically, I've just tried it during 15 minutes. Result : I'm back to genesis.

Maybe in 6 months it will be ready for publishing, but as it is now, I do not encourage buying. Take genesis, the UI is a thousand times better (what the fuck is this building wheel ?), and the game do not make your rig cry for mercy (graphics are pretty, yes, but really Under-optimized).

First impression is really bad. I'll try it again after one or two patches.
