bossonova: As for preordering...
Read this: http://brokenforum.com/index.php?threads/eador-genesis.4318/page-16#post-561100

Snowbirds yet again f*ed up dates, last beta test just started, so game will inevitably be released with bugs.
Actually, in last stream producer stated "Paradoxes released Europa 3 with bugs, why we can't too?". With this attitude I don't expect anything good.

Some screens of this inevitable fail:

They returned back this stupid building wheel. Then look at top right corner - wall in stone. (initially it was small stupid lake with wall around it - we sweared for 2 years on russian forum to remove that)

Graphical bug on hit:
Will be in final release. "This is feature" by producer's words.
3)Without words:

This seems to be an ongoing trend nowadays. Games that come out full of bugs. By the time it's all fixed up the price of the actual game lowers cause it's an older release. For the past year or so there has not been one game that has been released that i have preordered that has been without bugs. Well what do we get as the people who preordered this??? why preorder????

There is no such thing as running out of copies of a game like in hard copies??? why bother preordering a copy of a game full of bugs when you can get the game for lesser price at a later date when it is fully functional. MAKES SENSE TO ME. also, preordering bonuses don't make up for the fact that the new game that is being preordered if full of bugs... such a disappointment i say.
About that top right corner ,it looks normal in my case.

The venom people are ready to spit on other people’s work is just staggering. Considering it comes from so called 'fans' of Genesis, it is utterly incomprehensible.

Some people might like Genesis more than MofBW; that is perfectly fine. I like them both equally.

But spreading lies as the OP and calling MofBW a 'scam' as Gremlion did is just irresponsible. You probably have your own 'vendetta' agenda for any number of reasons, none of them I care about.

For everybody else with a sincere interest in the new game, please join us in the official forum, and try the beta (there is still time):

http://www.snowbirdgames.com/forum/index.php?forums/eador-masters-of-the-broken-world.5/

The game has bugs and Snowbird Games is working hard to fix them. They will support it after launch. It is perfectly fine and understandable if you want to wait for a bug-free version, that's your right. Also keep in mind that this game is priced as $20, which is less than half of new games. I played the beta for 200+ hours, I think the value is unbeatable.

Everything else said by the OP and others in this thread are either lies or personal opinions. Go to the forum to see a more sober view from many fans of this wonderful game.

EDIT: Please also note that the OP started the same thread on Steam, which was promptly reported as abusive and taken down by moderators. This should tell you about the validity of this thread.

Facts are Facts, are they not... see it for yourselves if it is true, make your own decisions based on facts, not fiction. mbpopolano24 needs to take the pickle out of his ass. LOL

The issue is this-will the game be released in playable form on 4/19? If so, then great; if not, then why hasn't there been an announcement?

Offering a beta weeks (days?) before release puzzles me. I have never been a beta tester, but I do frequent a lot of gaming forums. I have never seen this done before. What is the rationale of doing this?

I, personally, do not mind if the game is delayed for fine tuning. I do mind if the release date has been changed and no one has informed me of it, especially since I gave them my money in good faith.

I do think the OP is frustrated, but if what he is saying has even a modicum of truth, then Snowbird and GOG (and Steam) need to address this.

PS-His post being taken down on Steam really doesn't mean anything. If I am not mistaken, the devs/publishers have moderator privileges, so it wouldn't surprise me if negative posts were censored (not good in my opinion). Kudos to GOG for letting his post stand.

Now if one of the mods here at GOG could find out if the game is really being released on 4/19, that would be appreciated.

PPS-If what they are saying are lies, then let someone who is privy to the situation in an official capacity come here and let us know what is happening. To my knowledge (and I may be mistaken) this game is only being sold in two places (GOG and Steam). It cannot be that hard for them to let us know what is happening. Calling someone a liar is strong...can you prove what they are saying are lies?

Just like they have an opinion, you have one too; why is your opinion to be trusted more than theirs?

Exactly, facts are fact. This is why I encourage everyone who is looking for facts to go to the link posted previously.

You can talk to many people, engage in constructive discussions, and even try the game for yourself, before buying it.
Im also dissapointed. Its like watching how a sequel without any shame gives you bad feeling about it.

Reminds me of Majesty:The Fantasy Kingdom Sim sequel which in my opinion is so poor it didnt gave any joy for me personally...

Your quote from the Snowbird Forums-'Hey Dan (or any other at Snowbird), I think you should start to send some of your PR people to start answering questions in the GOG forum. I am doing my best to give some information there on the basis of my experience with the beta, but a word (or two...) from you guys will make a ton of difference. The same would be true in the Steam forum. You need to get people excited since you are so close to the launch...

mbpopolano2, Mar 23, 2013 '.

Your sentiment was right in March and the OP's sentiment is correct now. Information on what is going on can make a lot of people excited. I, for one, would appreciate the dedication they have in working hard to make sure the game was released in a playable form (if what the OP said about the dev comparing MotBW's release to Diablo is correct, they lose cool points, however).

They are too small of a company making a game for a very small niche audience for them to have an 'It's done when it's done' attitude after giving us a release date. It would behoove them to communicate with their fans (and yes, I am one. I LOVE supporting small, indie devs/publishers and I LOVE TB games).

All I/we am/are asking for is some communication. Tell us what is going on.

In edit-Said 'Diablo', but meant 'Europa'.

@mbpopolano24 I don't think the OP was being disrespectful, probably just a really frustrated fan! While different sites may have different standards in terms of allowed content, I don't think that the OP was making inflammatory statements - the screenshots attached are in line with his statements.

BTW, today is 17th. Shouldn't the game be released in a couple of days? I concur with @flagyl that you don't normally have a beta a week before release; that usually indicates serious issues!

Try to build something (shamen like on previous screenshot) - camera probably will move closer.

a) Sadly, this is not a lie. They are THAT greedy. Souslov, producer, even said that he wanted to leave only 3 endings in release and sell other as DLCs.
b) I would recommend to do this. Though they moderate official forum pretty hard and remove threads like this.
c) They had genuine gameplay before starting any work. What they should have done - save this. Is game got better interface? Hell, no.
d) screenshots - photoshop? :)
As for issues...
Thread on Official Genesis forum still waiting for answers (around 80+unanswered questions)
Some are bugs from first beta, but whatever. This is not even near to full compilation, because by the end of 2012 it was pretty clear that PR manager prefer to play the ape with us.

Once again, I am just saying that if you want to check for yourself, you can do so. Everybody who requested a beta key, as far as I know, has been granted one.

I am not interested in personal slants, vendettas, or hidden agendas. I do not know anybody at Snowbird Games, I do not know their history, or anything else. I do know that I played Genesis (200+ hours) and I love it. I played MofBW as much, and I love it. You can indulge in wild speculations or personal slants as much as you want for what I care, or you can try out MofBW for yourself; your choice. And in the English community forum pretty much everybody will help you, answer your questions, and let you be part of a community.

interesting.... no need to defend yourself bud. Sounds like your worried about something. LOL

this is taken from someone who played the final beta from my original link.

Okay, here's my brief review of the final beta.

-Understand that this game is basically Genesis with updated graphics and some slight differences. Genesis is a really damn good game, so even when I'm sounding critical keep in mind that I'm starting from the position of this being a great game.

-The end turn speed has been improved, however it's still not as fast as it should be. On a Tiny shard against 1 opponent expect 3-5 seconds between each turn. On an Average shard against 3 opponents expect 6-10 seconds between turns. For comparison's sake ending a turn on an Average shard against 3 opponents in Genesis took <1 second. I have absolutely no idea what the AI could possibly be doing in this game that it wasn't doing in Genesis that could be making it take 50x longer. It may be this just frustrates me because I'm so used to Genesis, but this is by far the most annoying thing I'm finding compared to Genesis. Having a turn be "Explore->End Turn->Wait 10 seconds->You found nothing." and then repeat is dumb. It's not as dumb as waiting 30-120 seconds, but it's still longer than it should be. It's not too bad early on when you're fighting few opponents, but later large shards will start getting annoying I think.

-The game looks gorgeous

-Combat could go a bit faster, but it's not mind-numbingly painful at the fastest speed

-Sounds during battle are still not working. Only a few units make any sound effects at all, and the combat music never plays.

-The building interface is, at long last, functional. They took the suggestion of combining an improved version of the basic interface from beta 1 with the advanced version from beta 2 and let you toggle between them

-All non-Hero actions now have keyboard hotkeys which is great. Unfortunately no Hero actions have a hotkey and you have to go through the radial menu.

-The 3d combat grid can make it difficult to determine the lay of the terrain on some tilesets. It may be with experience you could get used to this.

-Much less crashing - I only ran into one bug that forced a reload

-I'm honestly not sure what the Multiplayer is about since I couldn't find anyone else online. However, it lets you pick a hero class and gives you 300 "points" to spent on skills, equipment, spells, and army units. Once you have your setup you can try to use the matchmaker, and there appears to be settings to control how much of a difference you are willing to face in your competition and some sort of Level rating and XP bar for your account. Intriguing

I assume many people here have preordered, so with release being Friday I think trying the beta is somewhat irrelevant. If the release date has changed, I do think those who have preordered should be informed.

Also, I think it's somewhat arrogant to point out your opinion then state that everyone else's must be a personal slant, vendetta (really?) or hidden agenda (really?).
Well, I thought to speak with people who can understand the difference between an opinion and a fact. Since some here apparently do not, let me be even more 'arrogant', let's make this a 'teachable moment'.

Opinion: the new building interface is crap / (alternatively) the new building interface is good;
Fact: The OP stated: "They returned back this stupid building wheel"; this is a lie, since the building interface has now two modes, the wheel and the advanced mode in which you can see the list of all buildings.

Opinion: I like Genesis more / (alternatively) I like MofBW more
Fact: Gremlion stated: "So, basically, MotBW is a scam on ruins of Genesis". This is a lie, since in English scam means: "a fraudulent scheme; swindle". There is nothing fraudulent about the game. Hundreds of people are playing it right now.

And the list goes on and on. So, if you would care to actually read was I wrote, instead of making stuff up, you would know by now that, and I quote myself since this does not warrant my time any more:

"The game has bugs and Snowbird Games is working hard to fix them. They will support it after launch. It is perfectly fine and understandable if you want to wait for a bug-free version, that's your right. Also keep in mind that this game is priced as $20, which is less than half of new games. I also wrote that you can keep making accusations here and complain about the game (easy) or actually get the game and see for yourself (I know, it would actually requires you to make some efforts; isn't it wonderful that, instead, you can just keep complaining?). Thanks to everyone with a sincere interest for the game, I am back playing and enjoying it.
