I have the same problem too with my boxed GOG version. After the install of GOG Galaxy installed the game, run the update severl times, it downloaded a several updates, but the game didn't started up. I run the verify install then several times too, it won't even start up after. The game just syncing and stops a bit later and the game button goes back to purple from grey colour. No matter how many times I repeat update, verify the game it won't even start up.

I waited a lot of time to play with this game, I expected a lot from it.
I also spent a lot of money to buy it, and I am now very disappointed.
If the game was advertised to run on Windows 7 x64 systems then it has to run on Windows 7 x64.
And no, I do not intend to downgrade to Windows 10...

System specs:
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate with all updates.
AMD FX 8350 8 core at 4,6 GHz
Gigabyte 990 FXA UD7
32GB Corsair DDR3 2133
512 GB Corsair SSD
Radeon RX590 Nitro+ CF enabled and with latest AMD Dec8 driver

- tried the run as administrator on the exe file,
- tried the compatibility mode
- tried to install the latest Visual C installer package
- tried to disable antivirus, and all of the overlay programs
- drivers are all updated

No luck at all, but I still want to play with this game which I pad for.
I presume this issue cannot be solved manually, there should be something wrong with the game itself.
I still hope CDPR will resolve this issue and they will finally let us Windows 7 users to play the game as soon as possible.
It is still the same for me as well. Tried any suggestion and idea that I could find and read, reinstalled, drivers etc, nothing helped, direct crash at the start.
I also don't have that AppData/Local/CD Projekt Red/Cyberpunk 2077 folder.
Maybe because my game hasn't run at all for even a second even after five days.
That directory and its contents should be created when the game even started up at least once. It is missing for me too as it never started up. I am getting tired of my workaround on this game after 6 days. I am totally disapponinted.
With the new Nvidia drivers 460.89 I can finally start and play!

Edit: ok, this was happy too early.... closed the game and now I am back to crash directly at start.
Don't understand it. I was able to play quite well for over one hour, even with my 970 it run good on medium settings.
Now back to immediately crashing on start.

I know you said you just installed the latest drivers, but maybe uninstall and re-install again, see if that works. I'm also seeing today that there is already a new driver available for Nvidia cards.
It seems that sometimes after game crash the video RAM is not freed up completely. In that case you unfortunatley have to restart your PC.

For me it also helped to tweak the settings in C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Cyberpunk 2077\engine\config\memory_pool_budgets.csv
Guys, I found the fix. It's stupid simple. You need to update your Windows version. If you're not on Windows 10 but 8 or 8.1, update now. It's literally easy as Windows update, or using the Windows 10 Update Assistant: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10.

If you're on Windows 7 you might be okay, but if you're already on the latest version of Windows 10 you might be SoL. :( I'm running 20H2 after updating from a much older version and the game starts without a hitch now

Yes, with Win7 you can only play in 1920x1080 max, regardless what Hardware you running.
Which makes me furious.
I feel like to be forced to update....
After 10 days of pain and suffering of not be able to run this game I decided to reinstall my Windows 7 x64 system.
As I wrote before I tried everything which was mentioned before on this site and on several others, but I just wanted to be confident that the problem is not with my fully stable AMD FX CF system.
So after a clean install, all Windows update, latest drivers, etc. (took 2 days to comlepte the sequence), but the game was still not starting. I was very angry at that point. After pressing the start the game button it turned grey then syncing for a minute then turned back to purple and stopped. But finally I found a temporary solution for my problem.

It must be cleary stated within the official issue resolution database, thet the game DOES NOT SUPPORT CROSSFIRE AT ALL, .
After switching to a single RX590 Nitro+ card the game starts, I was even able to pass the caracter creation, but right after the mirror scene loaded it did a CTD. I tried this several times with the same outcome. Although I lost half of my graphics performance (which is a very sad fact) I was even able to start the game, but it is still unplayable, so I am still very disappointed. :(

I hope that the programmers at AMD will provide an AFR friendly driver in the close future which they did before with other non CF games such as the Far Cry series. They are now all CF AFR capable after newer driver releases.

Anyway I still hope that CDPR team will imporve the game performance of playing the Cyberpunk 2077 on Windows 7 systems. Maybe somtime in the future...
I am unable to launch the game, too. Neither upgrading it to 1.05 and 1.06 nor upgrading Nvidia drivers to 460.89 helped. I also have 2 graphic cards, neither works.
Also updated windows and reinstalled the game to SSD - nothing changed.

Are you trying it in sli? Cause I think this game only supports a single card.

Thank you for the advice - I really appreciate it, it is the FIRST real practical advice I got.

Unfortunately, this update is already installed on my machine, so it's not the case.
