Still looking for "3D Studio". Are you sure it's not 3D Studio Max? (Sorry, I know you've probably been down this road alot)

Also, there is this Ultimate Unwrap 3D thing that says it can import ABC file formats, and specifically says Blood 2 (though they might have just lumped it in there) They have a demo you could try.

Addendum: Maybe they know what they are talking about; from the readme.
Note that v6 deformation vertices are not animated as of yet,
therefore items such as Caleb's coat may seem out of place.

@ dusty and pika:

unwrap3d can save individual frames of an abc v6 model's animation into an obj file. Complete animations are aren't an option though, and you have to have the retail version of the program to do even that much.Mike over at the shogo tribute site used some sort of blender plugin to create animations out of what must have been tens of thousands of individual frames for their shogo2 project. It took him 6 months.

noesis has a plugin for old abc files, I don't think it can save anything though.
So, doable, but really, really, really, annoyingly hard.

Back to the older version of 3DSM then?
Joe doesn't have a copy of 3ds. He has an old copy of milk shape which I don't think is 100% on ABC models. He even said it himself he doesn't know how compatible it is with Blood 2 ABC formats. I can't believe nobody out there has a copy of the 3ds program used with Blood 2. No torrents or anything. So frustrating and sad. I think at this point it would be more beneficial for us if we started to try to put together a time machine rather than try to find a program that fully allows the modeling, animating, importing, and exporting of these ABC and old 3ds files. Or somebody could ask... Kurt...
Everybody do a search for 3d studio max r2. I think that's the proper name for what we're looking for.

When you look into that R3 Bible it actually says it has the demo version of 3DSMR3, so it is there.
Do you know if the plug-in wont work with R3? Some of the reviews indicate plug-ins issues, but if it works...

So, johncrystal00,

Where is this plugin? I have access to 3DSM 1.2, I could try it on that and see if it works.
The plugin comes with the blood 2 tools. I think zardoz uploaded a link for it that had the tools already extracted from the setup file just recently in another thread here at GOG. Try it out but before u do pray to God that it works.

I found a download for the Blood 2 Tools, and have installed it on a Win98 VM I spun up. I still need to install 3D Studio Max, but the readme.txt for the tools says that it was designed for "3D Studio MAX 2.0"... oh well, I might as well just try it.
Yeah you'll just have to try it. Couldn't hurt. Does that copy of 3dsm install on newer OS or just older OS?

sorry if I caused any confusion on the name of the program we were looking for. I misread about it not having a max in the name when it clearly does. I hope it works.
I'm having some issues with authenticating 3DSM1.2, a friend lent me their old copy, but the codes he provided are not working. I must be doing something wrong.
Corbin is searching for his copy of 3dsmax 2.0. We may be in luck whether or not your 1.2 copy works with the plugin Dusty.
I sucked it up and emailed Kurt Fuhr about our issue. So there's that.
The webmaster at the Shogo Mad Tribute site is looking for his copy of 3dsmax 2.0. So now we have 2 people actually looking for their old copies which they know they have some where.
Hey Dusty u got an update for us?
