Elmofongo: I still have not gotten use to learning and gaining new magic spells, I have alot of scrolls but none of the magic users can memorize it for some reason.
avatar
Hickory: Yeah, not all scrolls can be learned. Some are priest spells, which can only be used from the item slot like potions. If you right click on a scroll (with a wizard) and it doesn't have a 'Write Magic' button, then it's a priest spell. Some spell scrolls, like Stone to Flesh or Protection from Fire, can be used by anybody in that way, regardless of class.

A very important point to always remember about wizard spells is that, unless you have a mod that changes the rules, learning a wizard spell is not guaranteed. The higher the wizard's Intelligence, the higher the chance of learning it successfully. As you go through the game, you will come across potions like Potion of Genius, that raise your wizard's Intelligence temporarily, allowing them to learn spells with more confidence. Save such potions to use for learning higher level, and often very rare, spells.
I decide to save that quest for later since I really need to prepare first and get stronger, so anyway I have another quest to do:

How strong is this Wyvern I am up against, a guy named Coran, an Elf Thife/Figher, joined my party so he can hunt down and kill this Wyvern in Cloakwood.

Please tell me I can manage and my main fighter character has an Armor Class of -5 and please tell me I am up against one Wyvern.

If you can't manage the spiders in Centeol's lair, don't even consider the Wyvern quest yet. Going up against Wyverns is virtually guaranteed poisoning, not to mention that they hit much harder than spiders, and they are never alone. For the quest, you will have to enter a Wyvern lair (cave). Beware that travelling in Cloakwood past the druid area will trigger random Wyvern ambushes while travelling. Best get some antidote potions before venturing too far into Cloakwood.

-5 is doable but not a great armour for wyvern hunting… they do a nasty poison attack that needs to be countered or cured. In the basic game, any adult wyvern will work or the two adults and four young ones in the cave if you have UB installed.

Well I killed them quite easily just now, mabye I got lucky? But now I ran into another problem, where is the Wyvern's head that I have to give to Coran, its not on the Wyverns I kill because its not showing the loot icon and looked all over the nest?

If there are no heads dropped, then you have probably fought baby Wyverns, who don't drop heads.

Edit: And you don't give the head to Coran, you take it to the temple east of Beregost.

You have to go into a cave, where several will attack you. It's not the ones across the bridge for example, think those are baby wyverns. When you get into the cave, there are some mean bastards there... Doable I suppose, but it would be good to have some anti-dote on you, as there is a great chance of getting poisoned.

Yeah I got the head (Apperantly I could not see it well on the Wyvern corpses) and did not gave Coan the head, I went straight to the temple to get much needed 2000 gold to buy healing and cure poison potions.

I never like Coran so I removed him my party and got back my Blonde Female Human Priest whose name I forgot.

Also one question about this, some party members who leave take other party members with them (Jahiera/Khalid and Minsc/Invoker Women) how do I only leave one of them so they don't take away the other without killing them off?

You can't. Couples come and go as couples. The only way to separate them in BG1 is to get the one you don't want killed or petrified. One method is to take them to Mutamin's Garden map and send the one you don't want in to the basilisks. When they get petrified they are removed from the party automatically. They remain where they are, as statues, just like Branwen from the carnival map -- you may come back for them later, if you so wish.

I recall leaving a wounded Khalid in a building and then removing him from the party without any repercussions (was many years ago, before BG II, so I don't really remember how I isolated him.)

That's not possible in unmodded BG1. The game will not allow a split party to pass through area transition doors. It's possible with BG2 or BG1 with TuTu/BGT, but not vanilla BG1.
OK I am at chapter 5 so I am headed to the title city itself, Baldur's Gate and from the map it is HUGE. So I have 2 questions.

1. When is the opertune time and moment to tackle the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion quests sometime in chapter 6?

2. Describe to me simply what is the difference between Neutrals Lawful, Chaotic and True aswell as tell me what does Lawful Evil person is?

Chapter 6 will take you back to Candlekeep, so it's best to tackle TotSC in chapter 5 -- at least it makes more sense to me, because once you return from Candlekeep, you are only after one thing: Sarevok!

Read the descriptions here.

I attempted 2 of the Tales of the Sword Coast content and shit they are hard, I cannot even get to the Durlag's Tower because the Battle Horrors are practically invincible, not one damage, and a another quest in Ulgoth's Beard is hard because Mages in this game are badasses and I don't have Mages of my own (except Druid and Cleric , but no Mage)

Battle Horrors are immune to missile damage, so don't use bows and slings against them. You will need to go toe-to-toe, but you can use your Druid to cast Entangle, then use a +1 staff, spear, two-handed sword -- anything that can attack at two paces away -- and don't use anything that's not enhanced, because it won't hit.

and a another quest in Ulgoth's Beard is hard because Mages in this game are badasses and I don't have Mages of my own (except Druid and Cleric , but no Mage)
Mages are easily beaten with poison or the druid spell 'Insect Plague', both which seriously interrupt their casting. Simply hinder them and send in your melee fighters.
You're making the game a helluva lot harder by not taking a mage with you.
