We got offered either centaur garden or farcaster. I hoped for Champions guild but w/e, we will build it ourself. In moments like this it is drawback tower was built up to higher levela s one can't really control the result that much.

We also became better casters. Lovely.
Multiple factors have caused me to decide to go for a pile of production resources before taking a second town. Depending on health levels, I might also hit the sanctuary for healing before taking my second town.

Polearm + first strike + pegasus rider as my main attacker + production resources going to my "capital" + a chance to have Mimo's healing spell and mana to cast it = wait a turn or two before attacking the town.

On the bright side, the pegasus should be able to knock down any gates while the rest of my guys sit back out of charging range. The walkers shouldn't be able to initiate melee with my flyer.
Troops that can bypass walls due to Climb Wall, Flying, or Pass Walls are unable to attack gates or walls (if they had wall crushing). This is presumably due to engine constraints.

...well poop. Better to find out now than later, I guess.
Re: Flying units - Thanks Southern for saving him a lot of frustration. My least favorite situation is a pimped out Rogue with climbing walls and a sabotage ability that can't be used on walls.

Re: Production resources - It's worth it to bypass the stupid outpost for a turn and get the resources. A free 150-200 gold building vs. nothing (seriously, nothing) is a no brainer.

Re: Spell trading - Even though we're allies, I'm not comfortable giving away spells. Always seemed a little not fair to the players without early game Allies.

Irene - Day 5? maybe - Finally got an offensive spell researched and tried to suicide my Wizard so I can return to my Tower. But I'm too strong for that and easily killed a Shadow Demon Skimmer. If I'd been Vitek, I'm sure I would have died though.

Will suicide charge the enemy tomorrow to try and weaken the ballista guarding their city with a Tower. And then I will attack it the next day with actual troops. :)

Stuff like Sabotage still works, I just checked. It's only basic attacks that are prevented. In order for left-clicks to be able to issue move commands on walls, they had to disable left-clicking casuing attacks on walls.

Would it make a difference to hear that it is 3v3?

Also, why do I seem to be the only one quickly researching new spells? Are you two going for more expensive ones, or simply holding your mana for the time being?

If you wanted to die so badly, maybe you shouldn't have cast that attack spell! ;)

-------------

Knocked out the guards on the production resources. The unicorn phased behind the goblin darter and proceeded to sort of wave menacingly in its direction. The sword/axe/whatever guy trotted back and the two of them successfully put down the unicorn without dying to it. The pegasus (ding!) and the avenger got all 4 kills, with the wizard providing some damage dealing and damage sponging.

My reward? Stone Wall or Wizard Tower 3. Sigh. At least the choice was easy.

New question! Is it possible to "remove" a building from the list of possibilities by having it started in the building queue before picking up production resources?

Yes, although some have considered this an exploit.

I love starting construction on a stone wall, getting my two quality production options (that don't include a stone wall) and then cancelling said stone wall. One caveat... It doesn't apply to queued items.

Btw, don't hate on stone walls. They increase population growth and that can be a big deal in some situations. (Guess I should play my turn now...)

Irene, Day 6

Our undefended home tower was almost captured. Oops. Still might happen overnight. We'll see tomorrow. The lightly defended enemy town we thought about attacking tomorrow has tripled in defensive units since yesterday. Dammit. And we had a quest to take it too. Oh well.

New questions:

1) I see notification for accomplishments of my allies (ex. capturing structures and winning battles). Assuming that it occurs within my vision, will I see similar notifications for enemies?

2) Is there a way to "Replay Opponent Turn" so I can see where enemies are moving?

3) Can a temple be selected as a quick build for Production Resources?

You'll get notifications for enemy actions if they occur in your vision range when they occur. (Taking your tower for example.)

Bookwyrm627: 2) Is there a way to "Replay Opponent Turn" so I can see where enemies are moving?
Nope! So take your time scanning the maps before you begin moving troops. :)

Bookwyrm627: 3) Can a temple be selected as a quick build for Production Resources?
Sure, if it's available to be built. But it's only 80 gold to build, so usually you want to "save" that free item for a siege workshop (150 gold to build). But free is better than not free and this is a pretty small map, so saving a resource spot isn't always worth worrying about.

Looks like Syrons are not the only ones with tower to be about captured.

I really hope you built something to prevent it, Bookwyrm.

The production resources thing is probably the only (or one of the few) exploits I ever use.

My guess is he meant shrine but I might be wrong.

Re: Tower - We'll find out soon!

Speaking of which, did mine get taken overnight or did the tower guard and lighting caster save me?

Re: Shrines are not buildable by the production resource feature.
-I did mean shrine.

-I did not think to leave a guard there. I think I'm too used to AOW1 walls which keep generics out, and the computer has been almost completely passive so far. Not to mention this means it has no need to scout (grr). Sadly, I have no way to GET a guard there in time, with zero turns forewarning. Hopefully he doesn't disband the dude I'm building, so theoretically the dude will rebel afterwards and then I can recruit him to help capture the city. But it probably won't work out like that.

-If he burns the city, I'm probably boned. If he doesn't, I'll probably get it back next turn. Either way, lesson learned.

-Vitek might have been right about this being a short game!

Irene, Day 7

No big deal if he takes your tower for a turn. You'll easily take it back.

I'm in retreat mode after expanding quickly to increase my scouting range. Now it's time to pull back and let some low level archers defend walls against the inevitable charge of the AI at the walls.

He may have lots of troops, lots of money, and lots of mana, but he's not too smart. Against people, this strategy doesn't work, but against the AI, time to put the fletchers to work!
