If there is any chance that The Getaway can get a PC port on GOG, I'll ditch Steam. Its bad enough to own a copy of this and a well-functioning PS2, but emulating it as an alternative is virtually not possible without running into serious issues. Not to mention that Sony has the gall to not feature this game on the PS Store and ultimately do the London studio dirty. Tight controls, captivating story and one of the most technically and visually impressive games of the PS2 era. It basically has the serious, Noire tones of Get Carter with the action and violence of Snatch; but I feel that I'm oversimplifying it, as the campaign has a lot to offer in story and acting. The Getaway is one of the first games I played where I got to experience the idea that a game can feel like a movie but still be fun to play. It does a great job at making the game as immersive as possible, to the point that UI is not even needed if it did have any at all.
I would love to play this game again.
