By far my favorite hack'n slash game, full of intense and thrilling battles, and of course, a very sexy witch.
I recall watching this game trailer in early 2009, and craving for a ps3 or xbox360 to play, but didn't have money to buy those console at that time, only in 2017 i had the opportunity to get my hands on bayonetta and got addicted to this game.
I remember when previews for Bayonetta first came out, I wasn't all that sold on it for some reason. But when I tried out the demo on the PS3, I was blown away by the awesome gameplay. This was one of the very few console games I've ever pre-ordered. This was also the game that made me a big Platium Games fan.
An absolute gem of a game and one of my favourites of all time, if not my favourite. Played it in every platform, wouldn't mind to play it here too if it got released. Wish we can have all the saga on PC.

Hideki Kamiya achieved something, i suppose no one else in gaming history ever did: With Devil May Cry he invented a new genre, the stylish third person Hack'n Slay, followed by other games of this series and series like God of War trying to top this with more stylish gameplay, bigger bosses coooler moves. But it was Hideki Kamiya, 8 years of glorious hack'n slay later, who topped them all: One witch survived the witch hunts, and her name was Bayonetta. This ist still the most smooth and most satisfying hack'n slay gameplay I've ever seen, the most brilliant and creative boss-design and - last but not least - the most creative AND sexiest protagonist design ever.
Why preserve Bayonetta? For it is the first of a damn fine series. It is not a question of whether it is wanted, oh no. It is, quite simply put, deserved and long overdue.
My favorite game and heroine of all time ever since I was 13 years old--this games NEEDS to be preserved. The gameplay is next level, and while the story is admittedly not one of the stronger ones you could see in gaming, it's brought to life by fun characters reminiscent of Sailor Moon and Kurohime, an obscure manga that Kamiya undoubtedly read at some point and pulled some inspo from. (Look for it if you can, the parallels are interesting to catch.) A must-play--particularly for those wanting a female power fantasy and strong, nuanced heroine with personality and a sense of agency + style.
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival.
Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed.
The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo.
As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity.
Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control.
