Apparently this game is nearing release and will be coming to GOG. The premise, mechanics, graphics, and indeed even GUI/fonts remind me greatly of a non-fiction version of Zafehouse Diaries, with the breakout of urban war-cum-breakdown of civilization standing in for the zombie apocalypse as the pretext.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun has an Interview with the lead writer of the game, and he speaks at length about his creative process and the vibe he is going for gameplay-wise. Much of his inspiration seems to be influenced by the Yugoslavian Civil War.
I'm not sure if such a survival horror game will be "fun," (scavenging to survive and fend off the depredations of desperate bandits can make for grim playthroughs) but I'm definitely intrigued from the screenshots and gameplay videos on YouTube. Here's One. And Another.
Since I'm a fan of Zafehouse, flaws of that game notwithstanding, I'm definitely looking forward to this hitting the GOG digital shelves.
