I've updated my patch with a slightly improved audio quality for Wizardry 6. The initial opening gates are a bit cleaner now for instance. I haven't fix the rapid ambient sounds so I'd recommend you set those to 'soft' or 'off' still.
I've also added support for Wizardry 7, which means the mechanism to enable the patch has changed from 'popfix=true' to requiring the line 'wizpopfix=6'. I've updated the instructions in the original post - the only change is to step 8.
