So if I read this right, WC/WC2 Secret Missions, and Privateer don't have expansions? Total sad face! I doubt we can sign a petition maybe? Give GOG a foot in the door to say 'HEY EA, STOP SHOW PPL HOW TO DOUCHE!' Cuz I really would buy it, if it had all expansions. Would be love to play those through ACTUALLY understanding whats going on instead of being a young kid going 'There goes my FoF missle up the tailpipe and BOOM! No more kitty!'
This may be related and one of you might be able to help.. I tried downloading a copy of righteous fire a couple of times to patch into the Gog version of privateer, but each time I download it its missing the RF.tre file?..
I miss my level 7 engine Orion :(

I'm no hacker, cracker, code writer or nothing, but i found this. Its for Wing Secret Mission 1. Im asuming more or out there. What my line of thought is, if we were to compile the links, or places that may have actual data on it. Perhaps gog can profit off free wear? Cuz idiots like myself are willing to pay 5 bucks just for somone to throw it into dos box, or a way to have Wing 1 and SC1 be playable as the same character. Mainly, cuz when you play Wing 2 and only played Wing 1 w/o secret missions, your like 'Who was Jazz? What are these ships there talking about?' and most of all YOU FLY A DRALTHI! It wasnt powerful or great, but still, flying the enemy ship, blowing up enemy ships? Still lots of fun! Something Iconinc that was a MAJOR selling point for the game back way when
I have a feeling we may be seeing some expansions soon.

If anyone follows Paul Barnett (Bioware creative director - thatbarnettblok) on Twitter, he posted this on 30 May, "Very excited, we have GOG love incoming... It's only taken us forever to get to this point, go go ultra resilience and being bloody minded!"

That might not seem like such a big deal - could be anything EA-related - but on 18 May, he had this to say, "Old games reborn, forgotten games returned, expansions reconnected... a good day!"

Barnett has been instrumental in getting old EA games on GOG, so I'm hoping the two things are connected!

Just to second this, if you check the giant bombcast that Paul was on (http://media.giantbomb.com/podcast/giantbombcast-e32012-paulbarnett.mp3) he mentions that there's a bunch of old stuff in the GOG pipeline, and how he actually reached out to the community to get him the expansions.
Nice findings, people!

Looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel. Let's hope this actually happens. :)

EDIT: I flat-out forgot some words. -___-

Well he said it was all Legal since for anything to be released they needed to show either A. the original source code B. the original numbered master C. something else that can be used to verify that they owned said game as well as having the original discs to copy the game data from to give to GOG.

So they can't get into any legal trouble but that was after someone in the Origin(their service not someone who worked for Origin systems) department it seems pulled some strings with both the higher ups and the legal team to make the getting EA's back catalog out on GOG a easier process on EA's end. Since from they said it was a pain getting them out before.
What does GOG have to say about this? -> http://www.wcnews.com/chatzone/threads/where-are-the-addons-august-27-2011.25590/
This is from August 2011, I fear we may end up doing without...
EDIT: Whoops, everything I posted has been previously stated. Sorry about that!

The interesting thing about this is that the expansions are technically available, just not through GOG. People are still able to download them legally, free of charge, from http://www.wcnews.com/wcpedia/Category:Downloads. The links are not dead either, I just checked. The only problem is that you need to own the original Kilrathi Saga CDs in order to play 'em. But I suppose it would be easy for somebody with modding experience to make a utility that installs it to the GOG directory instead!

It will be not a "modding" but "pirating". You don't have license (permission!) to use KS expansions with WC DOS versions. Sorry... :-/

I hadn't considered that. Damn... Well let's hope that they're made available soon, shall we?

predcon: Secret Missions? Special Ops? Righteous Fire? All of these are right out?
They were made available today. :)

You may want to edit your post or something so people who stumble upon this thread don't get mislead because of obsolete information.
Well, looks like Mr. Barnett wasn't just talking out of his ass. Things just took a little longer. :)
