amccour: So, the new release on gog... actually has the paragraphs in-game is voiceovers? How's that work out?

Anyway, this and Dragon Wars have aged quite well. Bard's Tale is a bit grindy and archaic for my taste, but... I honestly think Wasteland outdoes Fallout in some areas.

HunterZ: Whenever the game says "read paragraph X" there is now a little book icon next to it. If you click the icon, a popup window appears with the paragraph text in it, and a voiceover is played.

Some of the texts are missing. I noticed this for paragraph 6 in the root cellar at the Agricultural Center, and someone noticed another somewhere else.
That's cool. Hopefully they patch in the missing paragraphs.

If I ever replay Wasteland I think I'll need to get this version of it.

Crosmando: If you're new to the game, remember to read EVERYTHING that comes up, even if you miss something you just just scroll up, clues are everywhere. At game start delete all the pre-made characters and make your own, and keep rolling until you get 17 or 18 in IQ (Intelligence) (very important), as for skills I would advise every character having 2 points in Pistol and SMG, and 1 point in Medic and Swim, also try to get a character with picklock and climb. And don't be ashamed to use a walkthrough if you want/need to, game is good but it's clunky and obtuse to the point of insanity, it might be called an RPG but it plays like the most evil adventure game ever.
I will get the game but i have to admit that i really sucked at Bards Tale. The real oldschool rpgs are really hard imo.
And your tips seem a good starting point for me.

A long time ago i played this game for awhile but did not get very far.
btw. is there an area you should be hanging around in the beginning in order not to die to soon?

Thanks

The Ag Center is pretty much meant as an early area to improve your combat skills. And Bard's Tale is a notoriously hard game, so "sucking" at it is pretty much the norm, though the game gets less difficult once you level up spellcasters.

If my memory serves me well, it was that game that made you save in an inn. I may try this one again some time in the future. :)

I will keep the Ag Center in mind. Thanks.

No no no, they need to patch in all the WRONG paragraphs.. There were tons of bogus entries in the original paragraph book to throw you off from cheating, and a lot of them were hilarious.. Great writing.
