3. The problem is, for some reason the game operates on whether you entered the room, not whether you actually have the staff. Since you can pick up objects some distance away from where you're actually standing, it's possible to not set a flag that is necessary later. It's a design flaw.

4. That's a new one. So you doubleclick a chicken and get Ensorcio's dialog? I guess we can always handwave it as the work of a teleport storm...
Yes, Chicken-Ensorcio acts like the original one. Ok it just runs through the house, but it talks like he and sells spells. If you google the problem "Enscorcio chicken" there appears one or two entries with the same problem, so I'm not the only one. It seems to be a rather rare problem indeed, but as long as the game still works, I'll continue playing. I didn't like the guy anyway. ;)

Interesting. According to one of those ancient posts, it's caused by that same mage in Freedom you had problems with earlier. Makes sense at least.
Ah, that's interesting. I didn't read the post to the end myself.
Strangely, Ensorcio only appears in the nighthours - in daytime he isn't in the Sleeping Bull.
But otherwise, everything works fine at the moment. I hope it stays that way.
