After not playing this game for a long time, I decided to start a new game. After reaching the end of the Mansion on Fire a cut-scene plays where zip starts shooting Lara it fades to white, that's when the game crashes and the song loops over and over. I found the fix on steam forums. This fix works for steam and Gog version. I hope this helps for anyone looking for a fix.

------FIX IT------

Go in your registry. (Execute command : "regedit")
Go on this location : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Dynamics\Tomb Raider: Underworld\Graphics
There are 2 interesting values there : "DontDeferShaderCreation" and "DisableDynamicTextures".
Change their values to "0".

*It seems that it happens a lot on ATI video cards."

Thanks for this. I got a hankering to play Underworld again and this happened. Cheers.
Great now this game doesn't open when gog updated the game to their game preservation program. Is it only an AMD issue?
The game will launch without using gog galaxy. It crashes every time I open the game in gog galaxy. Weird bug?

I get it too. Radeon RX 6400. In GOG Galaxy I get to first game splash screen with EIDOS and Crystal Dynamics text and that's it. And then back to GOG Galaxy.

Legend and Anniversary were updated as well and no problems with those.

But as in your next post I can play it through Explorer.
Disable the GOG Galaxy overlay to fix the crash. Also remember to keep the refresh rate at 60 Hz. If you change it in the launcher the dxwrapper will not work as intended (did it work in the first place?). I also edited the dxrapper.ini to modify the value of EnableD3d9Wrapper to 1, why have a wrapper if you don't enable it?
If you guys can figure out what causes the game to crash you should report it to GOG support so they can fix it in a future update.
