I just starting playing this game and I'm rather confused. When I'm playing the world tour mode and I try to go to the Load/Save section, the screen is blank (it says "vehicle setup at the top") and I cannot seem to get back out. What gives?
Edit: Running Vista 32-bit BTW

racingfreak92: i might be wrong but i believe that the Save/Load button you guys are talking about is for Saving/Loading car tuning setups. When i clicked it i was also stuck in the window because i believe you must have a set up to click to get out of it.
If i quit at any time once ive finished a race my progress is saved, ive never clicked a Save button anywhere. There must be a autosave option in the main menu that you can enable

The autosaving seems to work, but it seems the only way out of a championship is to either finish it, retire, or kill the program from the task manager. How are you supposed to get out mid-championship?
Wow this game really is buggy. It even hangs when I attempt to quit.
I really should read the forums next time before buying a game.
After analyzing the case a bit I have to agree with the opinion of racingfreak92. The save/load seems to be for saving and loading car tuning setups - not the game session.
The game autosaves quite frequently and it is safe to retire at almost all situations.
I emailed GOG about this and they said there was nothing they could do with what Codemasters gave them, maybe that's why its not on the shelves anymore? It does lock up for saving tuning set ups for cars. Luckily, I hardly ever change anything.
Its no wonder it locks up though, its such a massive game (7GB!), I would lock up, too if I was larger than the operating system running me.

Amazingly, all the big-time reviews I've seen so far fail to mention the bugginess of the game. I could go on forever with a list of things I dislike about the game - how easily you get penalised during qualifier rounds when you don't get as easily penalised during the real race itself; not being able to save&quit in-between qualifier and race; Ghost mode not working (at least for me); the list goes on and on. Very frustrating indeed.
Even though I'm not a big fan of racing games, I still went on ahead to buy it because it was going to be out of stock - and to be honest, I kinda regret it. I mean the basic gameplay is great, but the technical side is a real let down.
I have the same on Vista Ult 32bit. I just tune don't save car settings and assign controls to gamepad (Logitecg Chillstream) each time i launch the game. If you play longer it's less negative. Also if you retire from championship/qualify last used settings stay until exiting game.
I have this problem as well on Vista 64 Enterprise. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is occurring?

StrongBad: I have the exact same issue, and I run windows XP. I've also had problems starting a world tour mode - it crashes instantly.

With World Tour:- I was having the same problem. Creating a second profile (and leaving the old one unused) fixed this, and also started to add the various cut scenes .
