sariaen: Steam is DRM in itself. You need Steam software to launch the game. To each his own to be honest. I would suggest getting this type of a game DRM free. Worth it.
You don't need Steam to launch Witcher 3 after the download. Just copy the files to a different location on your PC or any other PC you want. You can launch it without Steam because it is a drm free game (on Steam too). Steam is nothing then a downloader for this game (like Galaxy or the GOG Downloader).
