I have a question about buying the witcher 3 wild hunt, after you buy it (what i'm planning to do) but you buy it with a redeem key, what do you get ? For example if you buy it in steam you can get cards and achievements..
What does gog offer ?

Direct support of the developers (GOG is owned by CDPR, who made all the Witcher games). The ability to play the game without DRM and/or any sort of game launcher (e.g. Steam).

GOG Galaxy has achievements if that's what you want, though no cards.

Witcher 3 is DRM-free on Steam too. After you have downloaded the game with Steam you can copy the files to a different location on your PC and start the game without Steam.
It`s correct that Galaxy offers achievements too but a lot of them are bugged and won`t trigger.
So the biggest point to buy the gog version is the better support.

How is the support better?

You get zero support from Steam. GOG is the sister company of CD Projekt Red.

So that's pretty much the same, you still have to go to CDPR yourself.
I suppose you could go through GOG and wait two weeks for them to reply that they've forwarded it to CDPR.
That is better than waiting two days for Steam to tell you that you should go to the developer I suppose.

Well you do at least support the developers more by buying from GOG.

Buy it on steam, you'll get more.
Support is the same, patches will download automatically when they're released. And steam has refund a system, so you can get your money back even without any reason.

On Gog you also get tons of extra stuff like OST, Avatars, HD trailers etc. You have a refund policy on GoG as well. You are supporting developers directly. There is absolutely no DRM.

No DRM. To me, there's nothing better than that. I can even make DVDs with the game files and play it wherever I want without having to be always connected to the internet. I don't care about cards and achievements, I still can't see the point of them. I only buy on Steam when I want to buy something and the price is lower than GOG or in the remote case the game I want is not on GOG.

This is what you get + DRM free. You can easily backup game files on external HDD or whatever you are using. You can install your games without having to log into anything. Win for me :P

On steam you get DRM free version too.

Steam is DRM in itself. You need Steam software to launch the game. To each his own to be honest. I would suggest getting this type of a game DRM free. Worth it.
