With the Craft Ingredients Weight Reduction mod instead of a full zero-weight mod, we still get to deal with encumbrance but in a less boring way which, quite frankly, would make Insane run a drag otherwise. (Play for 10 hours, spend some 2-3 hours with loot management/shipment/sales/craft and then die! I would hate it so much I'd rather not even think of it and I ain't dying this time!)

Does anyone know if there is a weightless mod for crafting items only?. Thats the stuff that really kills the weight limit!.

Not weightless but all crafting items have reduced weight. Look for it in the sticky thread. Crafting Weight Reduction or something like that.

Anyway, now that I finished the game a few times, I'm giving it another go at Insane without any mods, except cosmetic ones (Black Kayran Armor rox!!) and the great UI mod that adds "junk" and let us sort all the sh*t we carry!

I use it because the inventory system and looting system and weights are tedious. Give me inventory tetris back instead.

- Not true. New run with no mods and I have the same kind of cash as my other runs. I bet your Witcher die and loot disappear on reload! Play it on Insane so you'll try harder to stay alive, not miss one dead bug drop, empty all chests and containers in the world and don't mind to have to walk a long way back to a store. (I suggest you drop the heavier stuff in a safe spot when hunting and do not die. After you cleared the monsters go back, pick up all you dropped and go sell)

- Not true. Again, my Witcher was able to get Jagged Blade, for instance, so very fast. First, go hunting Endregas and Nekkers and forget anything else. Canon Witcher with pure 1.2 playthrough, no imported items so no Aerondight this time and the lousy crafted Silver Sword can handle everything just fine, on Insane. I had the 15 teeth required before I even started with the mini games! No mod whatsoever, except cosmetics for the looks (Mage Pants=Black Leather, e.g.)

I also had my Hunter armor crafted even before my Jagged Blade. I don't know about you but anything I want I get immediately. Even being encumbered when bringing the loot home to sell. The only difference between my Witcher with no mod and the other with reduced crafting weight mod is that the former walks a lot more than the latter.

And of course, Strong Back is a must. Controlling the stock of materials on my Inventory too. I have always around 180-200 when I sell stuff. Max load is 300 with Strong Back. When I have more than that on the field, I walk to a safe spot and drop as much as I can and go back hunting. Reloading makes loot on the ground disappear so, STAY ALIVE!

I bet I'll reach Act 2 with enough orens to buy my Dragon Scale Armor right away and craft 3xDiamond Armor Reinforcement for it! And purchase the Swords from the M.Merchant too! =P

The really have to address the inventory problem. I think most of us really feel limited because of the weight limit and the lacking possibility to store things elsewhere.

Also the whole console oriented inventory/trading/crafting screens need an overhaul. I quit playing because of all of this. I hope they will make those things better and I will wait until then.

I use the other mod where you can change the amount of weight carried by him. The reason is because I also use the inventory mod that lets you sort your stuff and weight is one of the sortable criteria. So changing his carry weight works best for me.

This is the second or third reference I've seen to this mod (retexturing the mage trousers), but I can't for the life of me find the thing. I've searched with Google in general, and on some of the mod web sites, but have come up empty. It's either really obscure or I'm really dimwitted. Or both.

Can someone please post a link to the mod, or a specific mod name that I could search for?

I have to say this: While I do not consider a weight reduction or extra load for Geralt as a cheat, since it does not help me in anyway to beat the game, only to preserve some cherished items and do the loot/sell thing faster, I am enjoying the game much more without any mods whatsoever that changes Weight, max load and pot/oil duration.

I will make it clear. Using those mods gives no unfair advantage, in no way. They actually made it some unadvantage, for real!

See, when I was using those mods, my usual load was around 230-270, max load at 500 and I always had more stuff than I could use. Traps, bombs, potions, oils. In the end, I was losing a lot, and I mean a LOT of Orens.

Now, my usual load is around 160-200 and I go up to 400 without a problem, after hunting is done and on my way back to sell loot and go back to around 160. That means I have a lot more Orens than ever before, at the same level and stage of the game.

And it makes me think more about what I really need and instead of stockpiling pots and oils, I only carry a reasonable number and I'm always light. I crafted more bombs and traps and they actually made me lighter because some ingredients are heavier than the final product and I sell the whole lot of what is left. Of course it's a bit of metagame because I know that there will be no shortage of ingredients ahead in the game.

But I like not having to carry 60 iron ores, for instance, at 0.01 each and carrying only some 5-0 at 1.0 weight unit each. Same thing for all the other heavy stuff. It's not necessary to hoard them and playing at 160-200 makes me feel light, very very rich and with lots of room for looting.

And, of course, not dying ever (Insane diff) means no loot ever vanishes from the ground because they do when we reload a game and insane means NO reload! hehe
