I'm not sure if it will work but I have uploaded the Troll DLC on Megaupload click here. Go into C:\Users\username\Documents\Witcher 2\Downloads (this is on Win7, if you are on another OS go into documents/withcer 2/ downloads and paste it there. Then launch the Patcher_ROW.exe
Also for those who downloaded the DLC already but it does not work, try going into Witcher 2 folder and open Register.exe and re-register your game, but make sure to write the serial only with uppercase letters. (this fixed my problem with the DLC).

i dont see patcher_row.exe or register.exe

maybe its hidden? im not sure how to unhide it
They aren't hidden on my sistem. Then try to copy that file into C:\Users\username\Documents\Witcher 2\Downloads and after that go into the folder where The Witcher 2(mine is D:\games\The Witcher 2 your's might be different) is installed and open register.exe, register it. And open the launcher and go to Downloadable content and see if the Troll Trouble appears there or check in game.
If still doesn't work I don't know what else to propose.

There is no Register.exe

I checked multiple times.
What about the downloadable content? does it appear there?
This is ridiculous. Just release the damn DLC on your website so anyone can download it and execute it like any other file. It's not like the DLC can even be played independently of game progression - once I leave Chapter 1, it becomes inaccessible.

When I put the Troll trouble 7mb file inside the downloadable content; after I start up the launcher.exe when it tries to verify it, it times out and deletes it.

no register.exe in downloadable content either.
The problem is once I put it in the downloadable content, I assume it needs to be "VERIFIED" or "LAUNCHED" but when I start up the launcher it ends up deleting it because it can't verify it, or it times out.

Sorry to hear that. Nothing else comes to mind...

Matrices: This is pretty ridiculous. Just release the damn DLC on your website so anyone can download it and execute it like any other file.
From the Witcher website:

"Some of you may still experience problems with the DLCs - Troll Trouble and others as well. The problem is based on the bad CRC being loaded in the Launcher and cached on your local machine. Because with each connection the Launcher prefers the cache not the server - you can't download the DLC as there is CRC mismatch.

We are aware of that problem and we have a solution already prepared in the upcoming patch. Until that we ask you kindly not to download the DLCs until the patch release as it won't work without it."

So it's likely that they'll keep the file down until the patch releases (which is supposedly soon). In the interim, take my word for it--Troll Trouble isn't some mind-blowing expansion that has anything to do with the main storyline. It's just a short 15-minute sidequest that nets you some extra experience.
Still bullshit.

Release the file for us people that are up to that part in the game.

I paid full price for this. I shouldn't have to wait until NEXT WEEK for them to FIX something so simple.

If it's so damn simple then fix it yourself. They're working on it, cut them some slack. Besides, even if you could download it there's a significant chance it wouldn't work.

If they release it and it doesn't work, they're evil. If they don't release it, they're evil. Just saying, the fact that they're listening to people's issues and fixing them is a hell of a lot more than most companies even feign.

I do not specialize in fixing programs. What I do know is that they know what the problem is, and apparently even have a fix for it. They're just being stingy on when it's released I.E. early next week. Which is bullshit.

They need to RELEASE it NOW not AFTER the weekend. Its a tedius little problem that has to do with verifying the downloadable content and or installing the file. They know what the problem is, its posted on their very own site.

And I shouldn't have to "cut them some slack" when I paid full price for the game. Some of us work on the weekends and it is our only time to play.

If they DIDNT know what was wrong thats a different story. BUT THEY KNOW WHATS WRONG, they just dont wanna release a fix until NEXT WEEK during their OTHER fixes because its more convenient FOR THEM.

Just because you bought the game doesn't mean the developers have to follow you around and wipe your ass. You're one person of many, all of whom paid, just like you. A cursory glance at the forums would suggest they have their plate full with far more serious bugs than a short sidequest not being available, so I'd be grateful that they even consider it a priority at this point.

You got the game you paid for and it's entirely functional without this sidequest, so don't act like they failed to deliver because their free DLC (which they didn't make you pay for) is going to take a little time.

Stay classy.

When you pay this much for something virtual, you expect it to be functioning properly. I am not only speaking for myself, I am speaking for others too. I am not the only one complaining about this, so dont try to justify it by saying "I'm only one person of many".

Its not "free" when I paid for it. Just because I didn't exclusively pay for the "free side quest" doesnt mean it was free. Stop playing with your semantics, it doesn't justify anything.

And it is a serious problem when I am unable to continue to play the game because if I continue playing I will not be able to go back and do that quest (or even if I am able to who knows if it will change the outcome)

Stay classy.

Comparing my completely rational posts to some stupid video on youtube? How appropriate for a troll to come into a troll thread, though.
