Norbiej: nope i don't have ubersampling on (i put everything on low and in advanced options double checked it) i also just installed the patch from gog.com the international version like 20 min ago so i guess it's the right one. still giving me 25 fps and really laggy wich is weird cause i played on medium/high settings before with only some micro stutters
Hrm..not sure then..what graphics card you have?

And..are you testing FPS in the same area and night cycle? I've noticed with this game night/day/weather make a big difference. You could be pulling 50 FPS and then it turns day and raining and you might drop 10 FPS. So you always have to compare the same spot. I have a save game I use at a particular spot in my game to compare any time I make changes or install a patch etc..

jup just tested it in chapter 1 day/night , forest/village and also prologue part all the same fps all the time , it doesn't go lower on fps but it keeps lagging
I forced v-sync from the driver + triple buffering. And i get almost solid 60 fps. If the gpu usage wants to stay at 99% it would be just great. I hope they will address a fix to gpu usage in text patch.

revial: Oh wait, here's your post.

For me, no it is not, and no the insert key does nothing.

Though I'm using a PS3 controller emulated as an Xbox 360 one, so no idea if that affects anything. :p
Thanks for doing this for me! But I'm still blond... you mean that the left stick DOES NOT work in the menu?

Then it's the same I had before and it is breaking the contoller, but the key remapping for the KBM players doesn't work, either. That's sad. :(

I don't like the clunky way the controller works in the menu either, that's why I asked for both to work simultaneously or make the quick switch key (insert) work, like it is documented in the manual. Will have to ask again for the next patch, I just don't know how to reach them in the current Troll-storm...
Still blackscreens on little shop of dreams quest. That was the only real problem I've had in my playtime. I held off for two days to see if that was going to be fixed. Not a huge deal, I'm sure that quest means little in the grand scheme but I really wanted to get my journal complete before finishing the main thing in Flotsam.

Two things

a) Turn off Vsync

if you get screen tearing or you don't like to not use Vsync

b) Turn on Vsync, get D3DOverrider (google it) and use the option to force triple buffering in Direct3D

If you already have Vsync off..then all I can think of is a GFX card bottleneck..

How much RAM do you have? (though this is most likely not an issue at all)

Key remapping works fine for me. And I had to remap, since installing the patch reset all our settings.

Shouldn't pressing "Select" on your controller let you access the menu though?

I use a PS3 controller and it doesn't share the same input for the "select" button as an Xbox 360 controller, so I can't test that myself.

yeah i have vsync off :( specs are i5 2500 / hd 6850 / 4g ddr3 so doubt that it's spec idd or atleast should run on low on a decent rate but it doesn't :( ah well thnx anyway gonna reinstall it now :/
The GoG patch is officially out now? Can anyone link? Can't seem to find it.

You definitely have something else going on there. You have a better system than me, but runs worse.

i5 2500 is better than mine, same GFX, same amount of RAM but DDR3. Doesn't make sense...when's the last time you formatted your hard drive (or preferred cleanup method)?

Also, what resolution?

Cheers, thanks.
well before i couldnt run very weel in high now i can run in ultra with blur and umbersampler off i have a laptop win 7 64 bits intel i7 -1.73 Ghz quad core turbo to 2.93 Ghz 6 Gb Ram geforce 425m 1Gb max 3.7 GB 1366*768 running very smoothly
The patch is only 9MB?
After installing the re-patch, I can confirm the following:

1) The thumbsticks are still broken when using a 360 controller in menus/on the title screen. As with the pulled patch, you can still use them in-game and use the d-pad to partially navigate menus, but only those on the left side (leaving any screen that has menus on both left and right sides, such as your journal, pretty much screwed).

2) Troll Trouble is still glitched if you've already played Sendler at dice poker. He still gives the message saying he'll play you for the troll's head, but then nothing happens, and if you play him apart from that, it's just for money.

Quite frankly, this has gotten ridiculous.

And now, for the good:

3) Yes, DRM is removed from retail versions, as, having been forced to reinstall the game due to the fact I installed the previous (pulled) patch, I was able to install the game without re-activating it. So that's something. However, the caveat to this is that it requires installation of this broken patch.

What are you saying? "Select" is the same as "Start", I guess? Yes, I can go into the menu, but as long as I can't switch controls and use the mouse in the menu, I need the stick to work in the menu and the radial menu.

Hm... I guess we are not talking about the same thing. I mean navigating with the stick in the menu. Which was broken with the patch I installed earlier and other people said it is broken with the spanking new, official patch, too.

Edit: Aspenwood just confirmed it. No joy for me. Or no patch. For now. Next one will come soon. I hope. Wonder what they will break by fixing the controller...
