OniCola: i am not an expert in pc software, what i want to know is if it is safe to install the 275.27 beta driver ?i mean is no risk to install it? i think they are not named beta for no reason and not officiall and on the site they even warn us with red writing not to inst, but i want my witcher 2 to run good,so is it safe or not?
Yes it is safe. Only difference to nonbeta drivers is that MS did not run it through their completely useless WHQL procedure.

I am running these betas and I have no problems.

Well let's say it this way: If anything happens Nvidia cannot be blamed as they warned you against the driver. That being said i installed the Nvidia beta drivers sometimes and never had any problems.

chautemoc: Are there two Marcins? Cause the other already has an account here...

Marcin360: Which Marcin are you talking about?:)

I'm CDP RED Community Manager.
Great to see that a patch is coming out so soon!

Any chance the guys at CDP RED know about the controller latency problems? Even with full vigor, while standing still and at a decent Framerate, the buttons for casting signs and blocking are very, very unresponsive. Often requiring a second button press to activate.

Considering how quickly you can die in this game, this is a huge problem for me, especially as the combat is so timing based.

Also, there's a massive lag when bringing up the main menu which doesn't seem to happen when going directly through a shortcut to the subscreens (e.g. M for Map, J for Journal etc.).

Hope these issues get fixed shortly as they're the only thing impeding my progress on this fantastic game!

To maybe help with identifying this, it's related to HDD-churn. My HDD goes crazy when I press the Esc-key to go into the main menu, to save or load.

I heard it's due to number of game saves.

They don't get deleted automatically - I just checked and had over 2.0GB. That's over 400 saves! Going to see if getting rid of those has helped. Guessing so as I never had any menu problems earlier in the game.
Yeah, I have tried every fix to date and my game is still stuck on the launcher. Hopefully this patch will fix that problem.

Used the tool earlier, down to 4 savegames, still the same issue.
Didn't actually delete any save. But I did archive most of them, using 7-Zip. Does help.

zerolink: I actually went there and found it funny cuz I'm playing battlefield bad company 2 on high at about 40-50 FPS. Then again, I modded my card. So yeah, I know what that chart said, but apparently my card is jesus cuz most of the games I'm not supposed to run on high, I already do :/
Hell, I played Mafia 2 on high today at around 40 FPS -_- this is frustrating. No disrespect but people dont seem to understand I did a lot of shite to my card to make it run a lot better than it normally does, at the cost of battery life and burning my legs each time I play, but meh.

mtdew332: No disrespect taken.
No doubt if you're hardware savvy enough to modify voltages and overclock your card and other hardware, then you're definately knowledgabe enough to realize expecting desktop performance from mobile parts is asking a bit much.

I have an Asus G73JH with a mobility HD 5870 / 8gb ram / i7- Q740 and i havent even tried this game on that machine as i know from having it installed on our desktop gaming rigs that i wont be impressed with TW2's performance on the Asus since our desktop rigs easily outclass my laptop.

Its not that people dont understand, ive been building pc gaming rigs for over 20yrs, and i overclock and mod my hardware way way more than the avg user.
Its been a long time hobby that i enjoy.

Unfortunately laptops arent the best for pc gaming rigs with their limited upgradability and price / performance is horrible compared to desktop counterparts.

Being HONEST and realistic is understanding that even a high end gaming laptop is never gonna give you the performance of a high end gaming desktop rig.
lol I know that man, but this is my only PC until I build my new one soon (In like 4-5 months -_-), and it makes me upset that the witcher 2 thingy says I can play this game on Medium at least, but I face unreasonable lag on even low settings :/ Considering that I can play Mafia 2 on high, this is unacceptable. I at least want to be able to play on low at MY screen resolution, but I can't even do that, much less play it on medium (with all the fancy effects off). It's upsetting man, and I can wait to build I new laptop to play this game -_-
Slow menu loading is due to saves. Sadly the game loads them even though you just open menu to go to journal for example. So cleaning savegames every once in a while is recommended. But I am sure CDP will fix this too.
Hi all gamers. I found one more fix for glitch or problem in sound. Just disable Cinematic Depth of Field. CD Projekt, thanks for the excelent game and work. Please look this problem and creat a solution in the next patch for i can play with Cinematic Depth of Field again.
If you don't want to delete your saves games or whatever (I never do), then you can simply compress them. The saves are so large because they're not compressed at all. I cut a 17 MB save down to 500-600 kB or something with 7-zip compression.
I still can't save my game, it crashes 4 times out of 5 when I'm saving (or trying to). Will this be addressed in the patch?
Uncompressed savegames suck. Maybe they did this to cut down on loading time, but what would be the real time it cuts down on? 1/4 of a second? Seriously. And the .bmp screenshots are ridiculous. For 640x320, .jpg should be more than adequate.
Dear Friends

Any information about a release date of Patch 1.1? I know, that it will be released this week, but any proper day?

Best regards.

Sincerely
