Half an hour without saving?? Color me baffled. I guess you're one of the lucky ones not having ctd's.

But... aren't F5 and F9 the quick save and load buttons in just about every game, if they have the feature at all? Maybe it's just my games, but I also learned the hard way, that I do NOT want the keys to be next to each other. Because accidentally hitting quickSAVE when you're about to die is just no fun. ;)

They are, yes, but I prefer having my Quicksave/Quickload as F8/F9. I use the earlier Function keys for Fraps hotkeys and occasional heat-monitoring software. I'm a touchtyper, so I can feel instinctively if my finger isn't on the right button. :)

You'd assume so. I did as well once I hit F5 in Fallout2. There, strangely, it was a F4/F5-Combo. F4 for saving and F5 for quickloading that is. It annoyed the hell out of me :)

F5 and F9 have been present in games, for quick save and quick load respectively.

I think it also helps, by not pressing incorrect buttons accidentally while playing.

Also both are separated by set gap in the top functional key grouping, with F5 being first button in the second function key grouping and F9 being the first button in the third function key grouping.
