It's not just the 7.1 headsets, as I get no sounds from my x-fi 7.1 surround from my speakers.
I had to downgrade my sound setup from 7.1 to 5.1 in the windows sound panel (not the x-fi panel).

I don't understand why 7.1 doesn't work as it uses Direct X for sound.

Running on Win7 x64
better fix it soon.
another g35 user here, no sound of course. i tried SR77's solution, but windows kept installing the 7.1 driver again after rebooting. here's what i did to get sound working:

1. open the control panel
2. open up the device manager
3. right click the g35 and select "update drivers"
4. click on "browse my computer for driver software"
5. click on "let me pick from a list..."
6. you should now be able to choose "USB Audio Device" as the driver and install it

you can check if it worked by right clicking the volume control in the taskbar, selecting playback devices and then clicking configure on the g35 headset. it should now show up as a mono/stereo device.

this isn't acceptable though.. i hope this will be fixed soon.

other than that.. superb game :)

thank you, better be fixed soon though.
I feel so happy I made a spam post -.-'

No sound, so far only success if uninstalling the drivers which is total not... awesome...

mainly sounds like a logi issues...
Another Asus Xonar DG soundcard user here with no sound, but got it to work by going into Xonar DG Audio Center in Control Panel and setting Audio Channel to '6 Channels' (instead of the 8 it was on already). Sound working fine now.
Got a Asus Xonar DS with a non-usb headset. Latest drivers and all that and no sound. Switching to 6 channels didn't work

I confirm this works, but hopefully a fix will happen asap.
Damn, I'm bummed.

Logitech better fix this soon.

Any link to an existing thread on Logitech's forums?
any news? I'm gonna play Fable 3 until this is fixed.
Add me to the list. At least I know it's just not me.
With all due respect to GOG.com, Project etc. etc.
This is getting ridiculous, as without the sound this game is simply unplayable, not to mention the framerate issues that many players are experiencing. We need a fix ASAP.
