TightByte: Since we're discussing the presence of monster entries in the journal: Has anyone discovered whether it actually changes anything to have them or not?
In TW1, there were alchemical (and quest) ingredients that you could not harvest from a monster corpse unless you had the necessary journal entry. Here, though, that seems not to be the case?
In short: Is there any advantage to trying to read up on the monsters you're likely to meet?
As far as I know, there are 2 gameplay advantages:
a) You learn how to destroy nests to complete monster contracts.
b) In select cases, you learn about their weaknesses (not the boss, mini-boss monsters though)
And you also read then for the lore. But no extra alchemy ingredients this time.
