MikeP999: Agreed. Pointless banter, usually made by people longing to have someone agree with them.
So for the sake of argument, I'll disagree!
I enjoyed Dragon Age 2. I'm in the middle of my 2nd playthrough, but putting that on hold while I have my fun with Witcher 2.
Anyway, DA2 has sexy skill animations [i.e. 2 handed sword skills]. Come on, you love it...you know you do. Some fights were quite challenging. [i.e. going for those secret books that you could read or destroy].
Yes, DA2 dropped the ball in a few areas....quite poorly. But overall the game was still enjoyable.
Did you hate DA2 so much that you quit playing? If so, that's fine it's your time.

As usual though, the new game gets the most praise. Just wait until something new hits the shelves that will make Witcher 2 shake in its boots when it comes time to directly compare.

mastorofpuppetz: No offense but your a moron, newer game gets the praise? LMAO, most people say older games are always better (Baldurs gate, torment, etc..)> TW2 is getting more praise casue it blows DA 2 and origins out of the water, Come on get real, play Dragon gae and it feels so lifeless by comparison, 2 in particular was such a rush job abd recycled areas it was an insult.

There is more detail in LOBINDEN then all of DA 2.
That's ok, I don't get offended by people such as yourself. I'm simply stating my views. Whereas in typical fashion, your kind lashes out with personal attacks. Your kind simply isn't worth my time or effort. Perhaps someday you'll mature and be polite. Until then...enjoy your stay junior.

zteman: Just kidding! How can I even put Dragon Age 2 and The Witcher 2 in the same league. That's like comparing Varsity with Pee Wee league. I'll say the things that the thread lock happy Bioware forums won't allow me to say clearly here:

Dragon Age 2 Sucks
Dragon Age 2 Is Boring
Dragon Age 2 Is Lifeless
Dragon Age 2 Is a Failure for a major AAA game (in terms of the actual gameplay, its probably a huge success financially unfortunately so I can only hope their user base sticks it to them in future products if they keep up their shoddy products)

Go Witcher 2! Thank you for creating a real game with challenges. Thank you for not undermining your user base.

Talk about fanboy garbage, its not common knowledge, its delusion. AAA is AAA for a reason, people buy the hell out of it, but fanboys always live in their imaginary worlds.
why is this even in here?

such a waste of a thread.

you can pour huge amounts of money into something, doesn't automatically make it good. case in point. dragon age is garbage. always has been, always will be. no amount of fan boy stupidity will change that. claro?
I think this thread should now be about steaks, because steaks are far better than some game about Dragons and Aging.

Beer-Marinated Flank Steak with Aji & Guacamole

2 1 1/3-pound flank steaks
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons ground cumin
Coarse kosher salt
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
11/4 cups thinly sliced green onions (about 6)
1 12-ounce bottle dark beer
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
Aji Sauce (see below)
Guacamole (see below)

Preparation

Using sharp knife, lightly score flank steaks about 1/8 inch deep on both sides in a crisscross pattern at 1/2-inch intervals. Place steaks in 13x9x2-inch glass baking dish. Sprinkle steaks on both sides with oregano and cumin and generous amount of coarse salt and freshly ground pepper. Drizzle olive oil over both sides of steaks, rubbing oil and spices into meat. Add green onions, beer, and Worcestershire sauce, turning steaks several times to coat both sides. Cover and chill at least 3 hours, turning occasionally. DO AHEAD: Can be made 1 day ahead. Keep chilled.

Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat). Brush grill rack lightly with oil. Grill steaks to desired doneness, 3 to 4 minutes total per side for medium-rare, turning steaks 1/4 turn after 1 1/2 minutes to form crisscross grill marks, if desired. Transfer steaks to cutting board; let rest 5 minutes. Thinly slice steaks across grain. Transfer to platter and serve with Aji Sauce and Colombian Guacamole.

Aji Sauce

1/2 cup coarsely chopped seeded jalapeño chiles (about 4 large)
1/2 cup coarsely chopped green onions (about 2 large)
1/3 cup coarsely chopped sweet onion (such as Maui or Vidalia)
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons (or more) red wine vinegar or fresh lime juice
3/4 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Combine jalapeño chiles, green onions, sweet onion, and cilantro in processor; puree until paste forms, scraping down sides of bowl with rubber spatula several times. Add 2 tablespoons vinegar and process until mixture is blended but some texture still remains. Transfer to small bowl. Stir in 3/4 teaspoon coarse salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and more vinegar to taste, if desired. DO AHEAD: Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate.

Guacamole

1 large ripe avocado (12 to 13 ounces), peeled, pitted, coarsely chopped
3 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
3 tablespoons coarsely chopped green onion or sweet onion (such as Maui or Vidalia)
2 tablespoons chopped serrano chiles with seeds
1/4 cup (or more) water
2 1/2 tablespoons (or more) fresh lime juice
Coarse kosher salt

Combine avocado, cilantro, green onion, and serrano chiles in processor. Puree until smooth. Add 1/4 cup water and 21/2 tablespoons lime juice and process to blend. Add more water to avocado mixture by tablespoonfuls if needed and blend until thick sauce forms.

Transfer to small bowl; season to taste with coarse salt and pepper and more lime juice, if desired. Cover and chill.

I feel sorry for people that do enjoy DA2. I think its either their first ever RPG or they have no concept of what an RPG is. But lets not extrapolate and argue the definition of an RPG either. Been in those discussions and it goes nowhere and someone will say basically every game is an RPG.

While you're thinking you're acting mature and then calling some your junior basically puts you in the same league, junior.

Back to DA2, the game does have some positives because they did have highly skilled people working on it, but the whole big picture execution of piecing it all together and the decisions where to skimp out was HORRID. All the negatives completely wash out what it has going well. This game was so horrible that I cannot complete it to end to see the ending.

I once fed a baby cow with a bottle. Haven't been able to eat steak, since.

Can't this thread also be about desserts?
DA2 was a major disappointment because it just screamed 'wasted potential'. It had good elements, particularly the story, BUT the EXECUTION was BADLY DONE.
I wanted to like it, and there were parts of it that I enjoyed, but, as a whole, it was a disappointment and felt 'rushed' (probably because it was...).

I loved DA:O, but, visually (including 'visual atmosphere'), even the first Witcher was way better (I think that was my only real gripe about DA:O ).
Characters and voice-acting wise, tho', I'd pick DA:O over both Witcher games. ;D
(I'll gladly reconsider if they get Claudia Black's voice for a character in the Witcher franchise...maybe Yennefer? lol )

But yes, The Witcher 2 is a much, much better game than DA2.
If CDPR's track record and treatment of the first game is anything to go by, TW2 will only get better. :)

Steak is good enough to be dessert. ;p

Edit: My uncle owned a cattle ranch. Spent a summer branding cows. Didn't turn me off one bit. ;)

The only real problem with DA 2 is they got really lazy with content and dungeon sets. Thats it, other then that it is a good RPG, and I've been playing RPGs since Ultima and Might and Magic, so its not my first. The only people whining are the same morons who throw hissy fits they got rid of Isometric View. Like Isometric view is really an important part of an RPG

The cake is the truth!
There is no comparison between these two, The Witcher 2 is MUCH better.

Very nice. I still marinade flank steaks with garlic/ginger/teriyaki and soya sauce. Simple and tasty. Place in a ziplock bag and turn every few hours, good to go the next day.

Crystal clear. Fan Boy Stupidity flow on the DA2 board amazingly deep. There's so many fan boy with love hate relationship with the game that they're writing novels in thread that just ends up getting locked up and then they do it again and again. These fan boys think they're "swaying" Bioware to make it right in DA3 when in reality is everything is getting locked up and going into the abyss that nobody is going to read again. DA2 is garbage. DA2 can be had for $10 on ebay and is now on sale for $29.99 regularly. Real AAA hits hold their value quite well. I resell all my games and I've never seen such a hit to my wallet.

Yes, that's definitely the good 'ol classic (I add a tiny bit of brown sugar). It wouldn't have filled up as much room in this silly thread though. :p
