Oritxupolite: 16:10 = 40 %

16:09 = 31 %

4:3 and 5:4 - the fix maybe is valid to 4:3 and 5:4 = 22 % - 5:4 only is 13 %

StingingVelvet: He said 4:3 was the most popular. He was wrong. I don't need you to copy over the page's facts to back me up, thanks.
You said "16:9 is the most popular according to the latest Steam survey" . You also was wrong and looks like you need a copy paste to see the numbers ;)

I was going on 1080p being the most popular screen size. In any case, the point stands: 4:3 is by far not at the top.

But that point is moot since you implied that it was the right choice to support only a single resolution while serving more than two thirds of your customers black bars that obscure their screen.

Where did I say that was the right choice? Stop making shit up.

Someone said 4:3 was the most popular PC aspect ratio. I pointed out that is by far not the case. That was it. I do think 16:9 is the standard now, but they should support all aspect rations to be nice. I personally have 16:10 and would of course prefer to have 16:10 support.

Louro999: Ok so to the people saying 4:3 is not popular.

Do you know what OS is the most popular ? Windows XP ? Windows Vista/7 ? Linux ?

Of course, Vista/7 cause they are under abusive exclusivity charts, which means that when you buy a new computer, you get Vista/Seven.
Therefore casual PC users all have Vista/Seven, while people who works on computer or are simply addicted to PC, prefer XP over Vista because XP is clearly the best windows with the less CPU performance required., and people with even more skills on computer pick Linux over XP.

That goes the same for 4:3 or 16:9, most people are only casual PC users and have 16:10, but people who code programs, who play RTS, and etc, for most of them, prefer 4:3 over 16:9 cause 4:3 is more comfortable for most PC games or most PC activities, or simply, for Mouse using with a square shaped mouse carpet.

So of course you can claim everywhere that 16:9 is the most popular among PC users, but it is definitly not the most popular for people spending much time on PC activities.

And since this game can't be played with 4:3 ratio and is clearly unplayable with 4:3 resolution unless you stick your nose to the screen, they HAD to print it on the cover of the game, cause it is not written anywhere that you need a 16:9 monitor to enjoy the game.
I purchased a game I cannot play. I am not even sure this is legal not mentioning it on the cover.
bullshit 7 is better then Xp by a long shot. it may need more resources but it can also be upgraded by a larger margin then Xp can which results in a better ride. i mean it has far better resource management. Xp only can have 3-4 gigs of ram but i got 8 in this. XP is not even made to support dual cores properly. XP vs 7, 7 wins by a long shot, its not vista.

Xp overstayed its welcome so long that people just found a niche in it. windows 7 just took too long to make, so they had to release vista while 7 had to keep being worked on.
