OlausPetrus: This is a wild guess, but did you use Galaxy or did you install the patch manually? I used Galaxy and things are working, both old and new saves.

Vainamoinen: Had I tried to squeeze 18 GB through my line, I'd still be downloading the Unity 5 build right now. No Galaxy, thanks. :) :) :)
I asked this, because it seems to me that the issue appears only in cases where people have manually installed the patch. Galaxy verifies the installed files and apparently fixes whatever problem there is with GOG version of 4.1.1 patch.
I've manually updated dreamfall chapters to 4.1.1 patch and the same load screen stuck issue happened
to me as well, i've uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game version before 4.1.1 and i'm
able to load my latest save game again.

I just reinstalled Dreamfalll with this patch. I decided to start a new game. The game won't advance beyond the loading screen. There are similar reports on Red Thread's forum.

I guess somebody forget to test the patch before they rolled it out.
Same problem happened to me ... after installing this patch all savegames are incapable of "gaming" ...
We may hear more tomorrow... :(
RTG is now aware of the problem. Ye-haaa. :|

It seems like they've been scanning the Steam forums 24/7 and all through the holidays, but not the GOG or even their own support forums.

Errr.... well, they've vowed to do better in the future, that's something. ;)

We have been checking emails, tweets and our own forum during the Christmas holidays — but unfortunately we (and *I*) missed the thread about the patch 4.1.1 problems here on GOG. I can only blame myself for that, so feel free to direct your yelling in my direction!

We're in touch with GOG about the issues, and it appears the 4.1.1 patch results in a corrupted install. This needs to be fixed on GOG's side — they make all the patches — so hopefully that will happen today. We'll be following up.

We apologise again to our customers for this screw-up. We're not happy about leaving you guys without a working game for so long. Hopefully you'll all be able to continue playing before the end of the day!

Has the faulty patch been replaced already?

Guter: Has the faulty patch been replaced already?
Not yet. I guess at least a teensy bit more patience is necessary. :)
Well, at least gog could/should have withdrawn the bad one from the downloads, don't you think?!

edit: The 4.1.1 Windows patch seems to have been removed now.

The main installer version changed from 2.9.1.13 to 2.9.1.15, so the full download should be the newest version of the game.
But, I'd rather download a 123 MB pacth than the full 8 GB again.

Not that anyone had been informed of it. Not like the update was shown in my account. Not that GOG ever admitted a mistake.

The 'new patch' through Galaxy is 14 GB in size and I'm supposed to DL the entire game again through installer.

That's... a teensy bit embarrassing for the GOG folks. :(

And it's faulty, again!
Embarrassing, to say the least!

Vainamoinen: I'm getting some reports that rolling back to an unpatched version lets you load your saves again, but haven't had the time to verify if this works with the installer.

If any of you do, I'd be happy to hear some confirmation!

GeorgeCY: Yeah I ended up uninstalling the game (carefully selecting to keep my save files :P) and then downloading the build before the patch and it works again.
That's exactly what I did. I always keep all of my GOG game files on a storage drive. Makes for quick re-installs, as well as for events such as this! :-)
