I am having a problem with the graphics in this game. In particular, the file cabinets in Tex's office are transparent so I cannot get the required toy mouse out of it that I need to continue the game.

I am running on Windows 8.1.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I mentioned this in another post, the game runs great--Tex's cabinets render correctly for me--on my AMD R9 390 4GB card under the 15.10b cats--in my WIn10x64 build 10565 system. As mentioned, anyone running games, especially older games, should be installing DX9.0c alongside his DX10/11/12 drivers--they coexist without difficulty. Sometimes these older games ask for files that the newer version of DX either no longer have or that work a bit differently.

DX 9.0C has nothing to do with the missing textures, overseer has a special software that was purchased for overseer to improve textures & big finish thinks the new cards drivers have something missing. i could guess & say its nvidia drivers but I have found the same error with intel on the updated board drivers . I have a notebook that plays fine on both onboard & nvidia but any pc with newer graphics cards the error appears. I also had it running on my surface pro 2 & then microsoft put a new firmware update out which included new intel drivers and now missing textures.

You keep saying the textures are missing in "any new PC"--well, obviously not on the AMD side of the fence...;) Again, Tex's office, including cabinets, renders perfectly for me. I can even get the animated textures to work (Catalysts 10.15b, Win10x64, build 10565). As I noted, only a few textures are missing as I describe them above. So it obviously isn't a problem for "all new" 3d cards in general--that was my only point...;) You could be right about it being a nVidia driver problem, of course, and I'd have no knowledge of that.... Just wanted to set the record straight about "any PC with newer grpahics"--'s not the case. The game is very playable for me...

yes it nvidia and also intel, I haven't read anyone problem with catalysts drivers except earlier on the control centre was crashing overseer

I can understand why this might be the case for Intel gpus--their D3d/OpenGL drivers have always been problematic--but nVidia surprises me. Apparently, their backwards-compatibility is just not that good & they ought to do something about that, imo.
This issue now has a fix!

Go to http://dege.freeweb.hu/ and click the 'downloads' under dgVoodoo 2.
Choose the latest version
Unzip the files to some folder
Copy all files under the 'MS' folder to your Overseer directory - GOG installation folder
Play the game (run the dgvoodoo setup if you want to remove the watermark)
There are a few small glitches (looking up/down when not moving), but those are totally negligible and the game seems to finally be fully playable!

I did try this but too many problems with it, video freezing & mouse lockups. did read if using a second monitor to use the main one for the first time but that made no diffference.
I think I have a different set of graphical glitches... but probably related... On my computer anything that should be transparent, shows up as black. So bushes in Tex's office look like they have black boxes around them, as does the mask on his wall, the curtains are missing, look like solid black squares.

Tried DGVoodoo 2, and not seeing any problems so far. Although can't seem to get the watermark to 'disappear', even after checkmarking to remove them in the setup.

my main problem with the above was the mouse kept on freezing, possibly it didn't like my graphics card.

just installed overseer from gog galazy on to my surface pro 4 and was going to install dgvoodoo2 as it just has the intel graphics but I have no missing textures so I don't need it. Now I see a patch file in the gog installer that wasn't there before I wonder if this corrected the issue.

well that was short lived, I now have a problem examining objects that I have never had over these years.a problem I can't overcome. This is on windows 10.

I also struggled with the watermark. The trick is that you will have to add each directory in which you are using dgvoodoo to the configurator. Then chose the directory in which the game resides you want to make changes to and then deadctivate the watermark. With the newest version of dgVoodoo2 I experienced so far nearly no problems.

There even is version 2.51 and the Watermark is gone in all versions if you do it right ;)
It's really great that there finally is a way to fix this.
