Ramael: Vurt's Space (hires space textures) and ADaoB hires earth space mods can be used together or do I have to select just one of them?
they can be used together, no problem.

GameRager: From what I read here/on the modding site that should be fine(though once you install ASaoB you have to replay the game as it makes older savegames incompatible).
correct, ADaoB cannot be installed during a playtrough.

Is the bugfix mod ADaoB really needed with gog version?

I have played and finished the gog version patched with ss2tool 5.0 and all conservative mods and to be honest i haven't noticed any bugs or other problems in the whole game.

Now i'd like to play this awesome game again with all mods mentioned on the first page but after zero problems in the first playthrough i'm not sure about ADaoB.

btw is there a way to track this thread with email notification?
Unfortunately i can't find this option.

there are hundreds of small anomalies, discrepancies and outright bugs, I kid you not (see the readme/changelog on systemshock.org, it has 9335 lines - yes, that's nine thousand three hundred thirty five). of course, the game can be completed without ADaoB, and chances are that you won't encounter anything major.. but, it's the small things that matter.

Hi Folks! Soo um...SO far I have all the mods unpacked properly, I just have the Earth Sky, and the Cutscene vid that I haven't placed in. I really don't wanna screw this up so if someone could tell me exactly what I need to do for these two files that would be great. ^^;
Voodoo's OP of this thread is very comprehensive, give that a reread. The mod guide section provides this useful link "Newbie modding Guide" http://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=4447.0

Basically dump everything into your DataPermMods folder
had a look at the latest Flora overhaul, and was able to sort out most of the issues with some help (you can get the fix package in the systemshock.org topic). however, do note that;

-the new models are not 1:1 drop in replacements of the old models, that means they might look slightly off or misplaced unless the map is modified as well (I can do this, but it's time consuming)
-they seem to be quite (gpu) power hungry, and can slow things down noticeably if you have an old or integrated graphics card

will probably move the mod on the recommended list as soon as I finish thorough testing, as the main problem (transparency issues) has been fixed.
Tried Vurt's vanilla grub pod and vanilla water the other day. Thought both looked like high resolution upgrades to original (you're right though Voodoo, biomatter looked like fried onions).
I didn't say fried onions. but, one way or another, I find the SHTUP biomatter much more fitting, even though it is, by today's standards, "old and lowres".
Is there a special procedure that I'm missing?

I downloaded the Thorandor pack. Do I have to do work each one individually in the right order or is there a way to dump them into the Perm folder?
you will have to work your way through each mod individually, see the first post. the mega pack is already outdated btw - I should delete it, as it has served its purpose (alleviate the initial traffic).

voodoo47:
Thanks, I just ended up following the order that you posted and the game seems to work fine.
edit. Nevermind!

I'm about buying this game and I wonder how the online co-op is working. Is this just the same mod what needs Hamachi or it's completely different?
yeah, the multiplayer remains unchanged (and bugged, unfortunately).
How about a simple guide to installing the good FMs to be compatible with NewDark and SS2Tool etc?

I really want to try Christine's but it's a hassle finding their order of release, files, NewDark compatibility add-ons, etc.

It would be sweet, since I hear that overall those campaigns match SS1 and SS2 in quality.
