For some reason when I arrive at Anna's Office:
Spoilers ahead:
Anna’s Office:
Examine Anna’s desk.
Examine the letter on the stake next to the ink automaton.
Read the letter in the middle of the desk.
Learn about the automaton locomotive that Anna has built for Hans.
Examine the plans for the locomotive.
Exit the desk and examine the bookcase in the center of the room.
Click on the 2nd book from the right.
The panel will flip and there is a small music box with a boy and girl on top.
Use the cylinder you got from Han’s coffin on the music box.
End of Spoilers.
At this point I get the message that I need o insert the game DVD.

smythe2smythe: Never thought of that. This fixed it. Thanks. The program was looking for the renamed files in the "video" directory not the "AN" subdirectory
Thanks again
No problem ;)

Namur: Create a subfolder inside the videos folder. Name it AN

Copy the files (copy, don't cut)

ANC2_HansAnnaB.syb
ANC5_hansanna.syb
ANC10_hansanna.syb

from the videos folder to the AN subfolder you created

Inside the AN folder, rename the 3 files you just placed inside to

C2_HansAnnaB.syb
C5_hansanna.syb
C10_hansanna.syb

I was under the impression the latest version of the installer had fixed this issue, but apparently it didn't.

And Welcome to gog ;)
Well, that advice worked a treat under Windows 8 x64. Thanks for the pointer.

3.5 years later, the latest installer *still* hasn't fixed the issue.
I just had this issue as well, except it was looking in the AN folder (Which wasn't there).
Hi,

i am running this game on my asus t100 with windows 8.1 Update 1 and have the same problem. The game is playing antil i must replace the cylinder you got from Han’s coffin on the music box. Then it asks for the DVD. Then i looked in the Video Folder but the files:

C2_HansAnnaB.syb
C5_hansanna.syb
C10_hansanna.syb

aren´t in my folder yet.
There are:

c1_...
c3_...
c4_...
c7_...
c8_...
c9_...
c11_...

You see file c6 is missing too.

Where can i get these to play this game to end???

Edit:

I wan to play with German Language

Edit 2:

Problem solved!

Hi all,

I just thought I'd confirm that the installation fixes have still not corrected the video problem.

Also, like smythe2smythe, my game (running on Vista) did not require an AN folder, just a quick copy and rename of the following files:

c2_hansannab.syb
c5_hansanna.syb
C10_hansanna.syb

(in the Video folder) to:

ANC2_HansAnnaB.syb
ANC5_hansanna.syb
ANC10_hansanna.syb

(all still in the video folder).

Many thanks to Namur for the debug log tip.

Hi Branson 200, I have the same problem: the file "C2_HansAnnaB.syb" is missing (I have the Italian version). How did you solve it?
Thanks you

EDIT - SOLVED:
I solved the issue. Simply the file names were ITc2_HansAnnaB.syb, ITc5... and ITc10... (and not C2_HansAnnaB.syb, C5... and C10...) because my version is in italian.
I copied the files into the directory AN, previously created.
I delated the "IT" in the filename... and it fixed.
