For some reason when I arrive at Anna's Office:
Spoilers ahead:
Anna’s Office:
Examine Anna’s desk.
Examine the letter on the stake next to the ink automaton.
Read the letter in the middle of the desk.
Learn about the automaton locomotive that Anna has built for Hans.
Examine the plans for the locomotive.
Exit the desk and examine the bookcase in the center of the room.
Click on the 2nd book from the right.
The panel will flip and there is a small music box with a boy and girl on top.
Use the cylinder you got from Han’s coffin on the music box.
End of Spoilers.
At this point I get the message that I need o insert the game DVD.

Create a subfolder inside the videos folder. Name it AN
Copy the files (copy, don't cut)
ANC2_HansAnnaB.syb
ANC5_hansanna.syb
ANC10_hansanna.syb
from the videos folder to the AN subfolder you created
Inside the AN folder, rename the 3 files you just placed inside to
C2_HansAnnaB.syb
C5_hansanna.syb
C10_hansanna.syb
I was under the impression the latest version of the installer had fixed this issue, but apparently it didn't.
And Welcome to gog ;)

Well your advice didn't exactly solve the problem on Windows XP (but it did give some clues).
On Windows XP, the installer creates inside the Video folder 3 files called:
C2_HansAnnaB.syb
C5_hansanna.syb
C10_hansanna.syb
and they should be called:
ANC2_HansAnnaB.syb
ANC5_hansanna.syb
ANC10_hansanna.syb
On Windows Vista, the installer creates inside the Video folder 3 files called:
C2_HansAnnaB.syb
C5_hansanna.syb
C10_hansanna.syb
And there isn't any problem.
I'll update this post with what happens on Windows 7, the next few days.
Well, I've been around since the same time as you (since the near beggining for GoG), but thanks for the welcome :)
And it's also great to see another Portuguese that buys PC games... ;)

What i posted what was worked for me on Win7, and for a few others as you can see in this thread here, but i haven't installed gog's version on Vista or XP, so i can't say what goes on with those.
Then again, the installer was updated twice to try and correct this issue. I didn't donwload the latest version, so it's possible there are some differences between filenames and filepaths between your installer and mine.
Maybe the latest installer fixed the issue for Vista and Win7 but not for XP...
And there are a few Portuguese around, just not nearly enough as i would like to ;)

I'd recommend raising a support ticket to GOG for this. They believe they have fixed this issue (users were reporting the error and most were Vista and Win7 users). If the updated installer works on these two operating systems but not on XP then they need to be made aware of this so that they can put a proper fix in place that works for all three operating systems.

I'm using XP and the latest installer, and didn't encounter the problem.

Then if Dragul is using the latest installer on XP, it might be worth trying to find out the difference between your XP setup and his.

I'm running TinyXP Rev9, with SP3, but WGA stopped working sometime last year, so I haven't updated in a long time. I've got a legit XP disc, but this is much more streamlined.
It also means you ripped out a lot of XP's components, which might just explain why it's not working for you. And also makes it harder to troubleshoot.
I don't know what hardware you are running other than what you posted, but in my experience streamlining XP these days causes more problems than it solves. I suggest doing a full install of the untouched OS, it doesn't take up much space or is resource intensive unless you are on fairly old or low spec'ed devices.

Drat's (the streamlined XP) game is running fine. It's Dragul who has the problem.
Ah. In that case, I apologize for not being helpful at all:P read a bit too quick there.

Right, this fixed the issue for me. Running win7 x64.
I guess the installer should be looked at.
Thank you.
I have a new wrinkle on this. I am running win7 64 bit. The animation plays fine in the game, but when I choose it in the "Cutscenes" part of the menue, then it asks for the DVD and hangs. Tried the AN subdirectory, but it didn't work. Any ideas? Thanks

There should be a debug.log file in the game folder, check it out to see where the game is looking for the videos.

Never thought of that. This fixed it. Thanks. The program was looking for the renamed files in the "video" directory not the "AN" subdirectory
Thanks again
