I really like this game, but the save system is an absolute deal killer!!!
I can't just leave my computer on when I have to go somewhere and haven't finished a session!!!
And what if I don't have 15 gold for a room??? I just LOSE all the invested time?!?!?!?

Just allow a single quick save slot so I can turn the computer off and resume later!!!
The exising save system still works for milestone saves, but you have got to let people exit the game with a temporary save!

PLEASE
Hello,

Can you please add a manual save feature, or something, when you exit the game, as from what I understand it's missing.

Thank you in advance!

that's the only turn-off for me tbh, in an RPG it sucks to have no quicksave or manual save

even like a bedroll item to save would work but it doesn't look like they'll add one
Think Ill buy this to support the Dev, but no save is also a big turn off for me so I wont rate the game for a while
Unfortunately, the developer has already answered this question on steam here:
https://steamcommunity.com/gid/103582791458099446/announcements/detail/1698356489974284013

So save on exit will probably never happen. Qucksave I believe won't happen either. There will eventually be mobile save from that post, but it's not in the game yet. You can save at bandit camps you clear out, but so far I haven't found any. In the end I go to a quest, I have to finish it in that session or it can't be done. I played in 2 hour sessions, and if I have to leave for an extended period of time I have to leave the game running or I'd have to start the quest over. Right now the whole system is a big pain. What I don't understand is why there isn't an auto save right before you enter a dungeon. I get it that when you enter one it's randomly generated and you can't save due to the game not having the ability to save the state inside the dungeon. Fair enough, but at least auto save when right at the entrance. That should be more than a fair compromise. The worst part when I died last is, it was night so no vendors so I went right to bed and it saved. So I had to do everything again after I died ( eating, drinking when you woke up, going to sell the stuff you have, buying supplies for the next mission, repairing equipment, getting the reward, getting the next mission, and traveling back to the place I was at, then going into the dungeon). Seriously, that is NOT fun, it was like 20 minutes of stuff I did already that shouldn't have been needed to be done again. And while it was also partially my fault because I did all that crap and didn't directly go back to the inn and go to sleep for 18 hours because I didn't want to waste a couple of minutes of my time sleeping just to save, that could have been easily fixed by just autosaving when you leave the town *sigh*.
Well maybe this is only a little comfort to you, but in said announcement, they specify that there actually are brigand camps where you can save.

While this is frustrating (at the time of writing, I have had about 5 stupid deaths which had me start over), I think it should be possible to arrange with this system as long as a caravan system is not implemented.

you will adapt to that system quite fast. at least it happened to me that way. When you save everytime before you go on an adventure it works quite well. If you find a Banditcamp (POI on the map) you can also use that to sleep/save the game progress.

But for those who really cant live without an instant save:

SOLUTION: Install and Play the Game in a VM. A good VM offers you the ability to freeze its current state (remember C64 Freezers?) and save as snapshot. This way you can save/continue the game at any point.

It is a roguelike. Although it doesn't feature the save on exit that most roguelikes have, its saving system is quite forgiving. It allows you to restart from a previous point without any penalty (and the risk of losing your current progress makes the game challenging enough and prevents players from taking innecesary risks).
If you've played enough roguelikes you'll get used to this saving system with ease. If you haven't... well, it will take you more time, but you'll end up enjoying the thrill of it.
I am also going to request a quick save option. I have kids so my play time is limited and inconsistant. It is really annoying to lose progress because I can not save and have to get off the computer.

I have played several roguelike games. I enjoy the permadeath aspect of this game, but I agree that being forced to leave your computer on or continue playing after you need to stop, or you will lose all progress is not desirable. As you say, most roguelikes have a save-on-exit feature for this very reason. The problem is being unable to quit the game when you need to, not being able to save or the roguelike-ish nature of the game.

Same here. Probably not a quicksave because that's not what "roguelikes" are about but a Save n Exit is definitely needed.
Devs wrote that they couldn't provide quicksaves or autosaves because of engine limitations. So in this game you need to manage your time. Anyway with more and more inevitable deaths your mindset about progress in the game will shift. And you won't be scared to lose some progress.
Quicksaves or saves on exit won't be happening, unfortunately. The official explanation: What will be happening, however, is more save spots. And once there's a mobile caravan, you'll be able to park it close to dungeons and use it for saving. However, implementing saving in dungeons is impossible at this point without stalling the development for months.

Who said that this is a roguelike?
This game is not a roguelike!
When you die theres still your last savegame that could be loaded.
In roguelikes theres no such a feature. If you die there, your save wont save you!

Umm, there's an option to turn permadeath on when starting a new game.
