rkinkjr: So just curious. Have any of you seen Solo yet? I have a couple times and fairly enjoyed it. I think it's a lot better than The Last Jedi. I think the spin off movies are doing better than the trilogy. I hate to say but I'm unhappy with the direction it's going. Any thoughts?
Personally while I liked Rogue One a lot I preferred The Last Jedi, if anything because it reminded me a lot of KOTOR 2 in asking the hard questions about the good guys and what they fight for, contextualized in the new canon of course (which has a lot less of the contradictions the old had about the nature of the Jedi) adn addressing the weight of the myth-like reputation the heroes of the piece tend to achieve further developing the seeds planted in The Force Awakens (which is very well done for what it is).
I still think that making the political context a bit less nebulous in the movies would be better (in the novel Bloodlines it's actually explained much better), but otherwise I'm quite happy with what they're doing in movies, books and comics. Less about the videogames, but most people over 40 probably wouldn't have known what they were dealing with in giving the franchise to EA.
Unfortunately my job kept me from seeing Solo and I'll probably have to wait until there is some sort of home release.
