I think I'm just gonna wait til GoG adds a native multiplayer patch for this game as well, cuz the 10 or so people playing on the fan servers are not enough reason for me to justify buying this when I already own the Xbox version on my 360 that which also has native widescreen support and is a perfect alternative for the SP experience.

Make me care, GoG, it shouldn't be too hard if you've managed to do the same for BF2 Classic as well. :)
