Looks, like i'm too dumb then cos it didn't work for me - had to completely reinstall my game to get it working at all.

Store page say that online not available. SWBF1 better (in some part) than SWBF2 and must have Galaxy online too.
Anyway, Direct connection and Local network still available - so we can play on GameRanger, as we always do after GameSpy. Same as for SWBF2 before Steam\GOG online update.

You can use GameRanger to play online.
There is another method here to activate the Internet option at SWBFGamers.com. Please note it is not the same as posted earlier. The one posted earlier is a walled garden where you have to get "permission from the founder" to join. This one is open to all, and if you don't want to download anything, the hex edits are pretty easy.

SWBFgamers.com will let you see the servers that are up too on their home page.

I anticipate that GOG will release their own online service, in which case, it's probably better to just use theirs because there won't be any external installation, but we'll see.

Also, unless something drastic has changed, the Direct IP option only works if you have a Master Server somewhere in between, for no good reason. I did a lot of testing with it and don't know why it is this way.

Please disregard the previous message. The one phantom posted is the "walled garden" where you will get booted for no reason or not even able to join because of random IP bans.

Our SWBFSpy master server has 2 branches, a public one open to all, and a premium which requires whitelisting. Both are via the SWBFspy.org hex edit included in our patch.

SWBFModders.com shows you the servers that are also posted on the forum homepage and GameTracker.

I'm sure steam or GOG will add support eventually, but until then we have SWBFSpy hosted by SWBFModders. I coded support for many features, including console, DC, and leaderboards.

No our service is not fake, over a dozen players confirmed it works today. Qweed is a fake along with the other 'guide'. And only our premium MS requires whitelist, the public one we've added does not.

This one is an open, welcoming community, and doesn't have an arbitrary whitelist. The other one isn't malware, but it does block entire sets of IP addresses, regardless of if they have actually played the game.
