Disregard. I thought I had a solution but there is something in this game that wants the save game files in a GOG Galaxy related folder.
I tried moving the save files and the game moved them back.

If you remove the Galaxy dll file you will lose access to your saves.

Maybe they will fix it.
So the game is not DRM free then.

It depends on how you define drm.
You can play the game without Galaxy but they make you hit escape to get past the warning dialogue or you can't proceed.

Tech support told me they can't do anything about it, which I don't believe.
It is required for cloud saves and achievements which I have never wanted in any game. That's why I buy games on GOG.
This is the first GOG game that I encountered that does this.
It appears they want you to think something is wrong if you don't have Galaxy.
