Okay, I am enjoying the game but I have run across a major issue with the Logistics/Industry work queues.

I am noticing that no work can be done even though there should be work available to be done.

Example. I can instruct an assembler to build Infrablocks but it will build 1 block and then wait several seconds for an unknown reason to show that more work is available. Is there some reason for this behavior? It seems like it is a bug. I also notice that none of the priorities work out as expected when you set them. I can set high priority on the Assembler and it still not get a worker faster or assign work any faster either.

I also notice that a person far away will be selected to perform a task when there is one nearby with the needed skill instead. I am noticing that in almost all cases the Schedules and Queues are selecting less than inefficient task queues. I have tried adjusting individual priorities and it does nothing to fix the problem. Even if I reduce them all to only having 1 job, they will just dawdle about until the industry machines finally announce that they have jobs for someone.

Everything seems to be centered around the fact that the machines take a long time to notice that there is work to be done and to assign actual work.

Am I doing something wrong?

Priorities in the facilities overview are for logistics only, not for the production task itself =) So if something is of critical nature the best way to prioritize that right now is to pause non-critical production and focus only on the critical ones for a while.

Usually the "continuous" setting produces these problems as there are so many facilities set to produce something that crew members only have time to work 1 unit per facility, if that. Food production and logistics related to that also cause a lot of work.

Try focusing industry tasks by pausing other non-critical production, to make room for crew members to focus on what you want. =)
