KingOfDust: The savegames are stored in a sub-directory of the game's installation folders however (at least for me they are), so don't actually delete the whole directory after you uninstall the game. Or at least make a backup of the sub-directory named "_saves".
Marioface5: I'll never understand games that keep saves, config files, etc. in the installation folder. Makes it a huge pain to back up manually and increases the risk of stuff getting deleted by accident.
Actually it's the other way around. Back in the days games have always stored their saves in a subfolder in the game directory (usually simply called saves) so you would not have to search for their location. Today companys are using different subdirectorys mostly (but not always) using the %APPDATA% path. Here the first folder often is just the name of the publisher (so you'd have to find out that one first) before they use a folder with the actual game name. Sometimes even then there's another subfolder called "mygames" or other. Unreal 4 games also have their own save folder and so on. So everytime you want to back up a safvefile folder you'd have to use google to find out where the game stores them. It was not hard at all to find the "save" folder located in the actual game. However I would not mind the savegames being in ONE folder in a different directory to prevent them from accidentally deleted - but that is simply not the case.

There is no need for that. Simply answer the question during uninstall correctly and the savefiles won't be harmed at all.
