Only people in the US called it PSX at the time. In Europe or Japan nobody called it PSX because it was never PSX. Sony themselves never called it PSX. On the original console it says PlayStation, and on the slim it says PS One. Nowhere does it say PSX. There is no X. Like I said you can call it whatever you want but the facts remain that it was never called PSX officially since the console came out.

Worldwide magazines back in the day called it PSX too, so yeah, not weird at all and makes more sense than PS1, since that was never the name either and was only coined when the PS2 came out.

Magazines don't dictate what the official name of a system is. Sony themselves never named it PSX. It was simply called PlayStation. There was no X. Where on the box, the console, or on the startup screen did it said X? Nowhere. When Sony released the slim model before the PS2 even came out they called it PS1. On the slim model it says PS One.

Sony themselves gave the magazines that name, it's not like they collectively started using the prototype name out of nowhere and kept using it until 2001.

I don't understand why is it so hard for you to accept that the PSX name is not official. It's PS1 rather you like it or not. Even if we don't count the fact that the name PS1 is official, it's just stupid to call it PSX, when all the other consoles have a number after PS without an X.

Nobody claimed that it's officially called PSX. There was just a guy who called it PSX, and, it was pretty obvious what he meant.

Well you didn't got that right at all buddy because I'm 31 years old. The reality is that the name PS1 is the official one. On the slim model it says PS one. You can damage control it all you want but it's the reality. I never said that I didn't heard the name PSX. I said that I never heard anyone using it in my country. Nobody really called it PSX in Europe and Japan, and it was mostly used in the US. That is what I said. Either don't twist my worsd, or pay attention to what I write.
