Just to point out, someone might refer to the LINE of PlayStation consoles as PS X, although I've never heard anyone do that. Originally, of course, the PlayStation was referred to... the PlayStation. Years later, after the PS2 came out, people started referring to them as PS1, PS2 and etc.
Again, I've never in my life heard anyone use the term PS X. It would be too easy to confuse it with an Xbox console. However, in the right context, someone MIGHT refer to the chain of consoles that way. That is probably where you got the idea from.
As mentioned multiple times, it's significantly less concise to call it that, so the argument is completely null and void. It is SIMPLER and more concise to call it a PS1, as most people already do.
