In first game at least two things were critical: never ending dive without need for air and crash at the last level (UFO/cinematics) + occasional insta kills at full health from enemies or broken alcohol/guts meter. Also on some machines there was echo bug.

fix.exe is used to reset the Redneck Rampage files back to normal after running the Route 66 expansion pack. Route 66 works by renaming some files and patching the rr.exe file. fix.exe just puts it all back. If you don't let fix.exe run, you can't switch back and forth between normal Redneck Rampage and Route 66.

jaimefortega: i don't think so, i've played the whole game without "fix.exe". Sometimes i got a graphical glitch, but you can quit the game and load it again to fix it.

I'm stuck in this level and cheats doesn't works on killbilly difficulty... I tried saving before using the switch, I tried to run the game without fix.exe but nothing works so what should I do?
EDIT: Nevermind, I have find a way to go where Bubba is without cheat. I did a video on my YT channel if you want to see what: watch?v=F4IhKsMtYs0 .

It'll never work if you've saved the game in that level. You must restart the level, but if you have a savegame of the previous level, that should do it.EDIT: Nevermind, I have find a way to go where Bubba is without cheat. i still think the easiest way to get around this but is just type in rdclip which triggers the ghost mode which let you walk through walls. Just be sure to type in again after you meet bubba.

When I encountered with this bug - I restarted level by suicide and don't touch bugged door until got a key for it.
P.S. Save\Loads worked well, but I don't turn off the game until end this level.

I found an even easier way to bypass this bug that doesn't involve completely restarting the level, using cheats (which doesn't even work on the top two difficulties) or a crazy Moonshine trickjump. The following is easy to do and works on all difficulties regardless of whether you still have a save in the previous level:
Directly down-left of Bubba (when looking at him from the rest of the level) there's a broken window. If you jump onto the windowsill on the inside of that window, then look back into the ruined buiding (i.e. away from the rest of the level), there will be three pillars on your left (the middle one has a Cow Pie on it), connected with wooden beams. Jump into the nearest beam and the game's wonky collision detection will lift you on top of it to Bubba's level; now you can jump onto Bubba's platform and end the level.

n.b. I'm pretty sure this bug is unrelated to the 'fix.exe' mentioned earlier in the thread. I'm playing the original version of the game without expansion packs, so not the GOG one, and I've never had 'fix.exe' on this PC or any PC. I remember this bug ending my run at least once under Windows 98 SE in the late 90s as well, long before DOSBox was a thing and a good while before I had Internet access to look for help with it.
It seems to be either random, or related to trying to open the door before you have the correct key, or perhaps some other trigger in the level itself. Any of those could explain the consistency people had when trying to reproduce the bug.
