My 360 pad works fine, plug and play. Just a case of calibrating the left stick, but that's all you get.

It's totally playable but it's a a little awkward. A to shoot? B to jump? Yucky.

I want the 'A' button to jump, and 'X' button to shoot. That's just down to muscle memory from playing it on the PS1.

Never the less, it's perfectly playable.

Has anyone figured out what might be causing it to work for some of us and not others yet?
I really hate to bump a topic, but I was wondering if anyone has solved this yet. It feels like this was a waste of money if I can't play it with a pad, and xpadder is not a good solution.
Rayman 2 uses the DirectInput API, and the Xbox 360 controller is made for the newer XInput API. Windows can translate XInput to DirectInput for one device, which works (at least for me) when I play Rayman 2. However, it's possible that the device Windows chooses for this isn't your X360 controller by default (for instance, some people have gaming keyboards that present a joystick "device" as well as the keyboard itself, or have multiple joysticks).
To get at this setting in Windows 7, go to "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers", right-click on your gamepad, pick "Game controller settings" then "Advanced" and make sure your X360 pad is selected under "Select the device you want to use with older programs." Hopefully that will be some help!

A separate issue that some folks have mentioned is the odd button layout on X360 pads that doesn't match everyone's muscle memory from the <insert_favorite_console> version. That's because the PC version seems to have been designed to have roughly the same layout to the console versions when using a gamepad with similar button numbering to the Logitech RumblePad. I've attached a couple pictures to illustrate the differences.

Thank you for the reply!

Unfortunately, I already had the wired 360 controller set as the default "older programs" default, and setting it again didn't solve the issue. :/
if the icon on devices and printers has a warning sign on it then right click and repair it installing a new driver automatically through windows. This will then trigger the game pad to work
Just gave a try with my F710 and it didn't work, both x-input and d-input.
Gotta try a little bit more ;)

Is it just me or the controller/sound/video settings are pretty much non-existent?
Hey Folks,

here is a fix for people who had the problem of the controller not being registered at all:

have look in the raymanfor pc website forum.

Follow the instructions and you should be fine.
To anyone not being able to use a controller in Rayman 2 or 3, check out my program in this thread: https://www.gog.com/forum/rayman_series/rayman_control_panel_version_1_released_1
That can enable controller support for them and remap Rayman 2 keyboard buttons.
