HiPhish: First of all, just because everyone does something stupid that doesn't make it any less stupid, it jus makes you stupid for doing it as well.
This, of course, if we take for granted that you are THE authority on labelling something "stupid" or "well done"

HiPhish: Second, ask yourself: if there were no unlocks, would I still be playing this game? If yes, then the unlocks are entirely pointless and just waste your time.
So you think that DooM would be MORE fun if they gave you all the weapons in E1M1, am i correct?!

You still don't get the point... they would be a waste of time if they force you to do something worse than actually playing the normal, core game, but it is not the case in Race the Sun.... you made them look like something that one can't obtain unless he "grind" previous levels, or repeat stuff that he hase already beaten before, or some other boring stuff... repeating the same level everyday IS THE GAME itself!
Players are just doing that anyway, because supposedly they like the base gameplay, and in the meantime they got some new stuff to try out in the next attempts... what is the problem? that one can't compete to the top of the leaderboard right from the very first try?

Now, i don't wanna convince you that's the best way to play a game and neither presumptuously believe that since i like them, everybody that does not is stupid... you play like you wanna play, and i do the same; the only reason i'm discussing this is because "get rid of the stupid unlocks" seems to be your proposal to the devs to make a more succesful game... i hope they won't listen to that, so i'm just voicing my counter-proposal of "do not touch them, please"

HiPhish: even though it's not an endless runner.
It isn't?

I've been having great fun with this game, sometimes for thirty minutes per go, but rarely more than that. But it's something I like to come back to. Aestethically (sp?) pleasing and quite relaxing, the flow really helps to bring me in a relaxed mindset.
I'm still working on getting to level 25 though, which I think right now is my main goal. Once that disappears, I do wonder in how far "beating my best score" will compell me to keep playing this. The future will tell.
Hmm, it's a pity that once you do reach level 25 all the challenges simply disappear. I didn't mean to but I reached that level quite easily because the 1-block challenges restarted their cycle so suddenly I only needed to get 10000 points again to get another block.
A bit disappointing!
Can't help but to think of Tiny Wings when playing this game. I first heard of this game on a Playstation blog post of how this game will be coming out for the PS and PS Vita. Seeing it on sale I thought why not try it.

Pretty cool game with the "please one more time I'll won't crash in Region 2 again." Have yet to pass by Region 2.
Nevermind.

I don't mind a game with unlockables, but the way Race the Sun does it, is a bit...asinine..

One orb: Collect 150 tris. Sure, that isn't tedious work. When I can maybe average 20 per race?

Two Orb: Get 15 multiplier. I can't even get up past 4X, is it really expecting an insane run?

Three Orb: Two regions, no collisions. I'll get back to you on that, Turbo Tunnel with procedural generation in 3D.

If there was a way to shoo away or temporarily dismiss these challenges for other, more sane ones, I'd be fine.

But there appears to be no such way. :(
Hi,

My opinion is that this game has undoubtable qualities but a poor gameplay. It could be much more fun.

- Levels are generated randomly. You try to remember where to get an item but suddenly, everything changes.
- Objectives are uninteresting, repetitive and some are very hard.
- Power-ups are too rare.
- Upgrades on the ship are disappointing.
