Out of curiosity, what did the new patch fix? I thought that the games were already fully patched when the collection was released.

I haven't checked, but I imagine it applies the fixes for character save/import and things like the interface corruption that can occur if you become overencumbered in QFG1.

there are some speed issues. i hope the fix is for that.

i could not finish part 4 without having to adjust the speed at two different locations.

also, combat in 4 is all wierd. if you overclock your dosbox, ranged combat happens faster than you can see, yet melee runs at normal speed.

For some reason, I am getting told that the update is incompatible with the installed version. Is anyone else running into this?

What I would like to know is, if I apply the patch, will it invalidate my savegames? Could someone who's not in the middle of a playthrough check, please?

I just installed the games again from the updated installer (apparently the old installer is also updated), and it has had no effect on my save games in QFG1 EGA. I have not yet tested any of the other games, though.

Previous saves in QFG1 VGA don't work after the patch. So it definitely seems that at least QFG1 VGA was patched.

The full download seems to be the same version as the patch now though, so I suppose we can just redownload the whole set.
