tinyE: I refuse to MP here! :P

The only thing that keeps my ass alive is that zombies can't use keys, pick locks, or climb ropes. I don't want any one of you characters anywhere near my fort! :P

mintee: hey look .... im on your lawn... nanner nanner.....!

last time I played this I built forts in the air with only rope ladders.... broke so many bones I believe that my total recuperation time for all of them was a game yr..... have ptsd from it all and refuse to use them or make upper lvl forts anymore. :D had a funky event last nite, one of my safehouses was totally gutted and overrun, i wasnt in it at the time. can only think it was those passing mini hordes that are programmed to make your life hell, there were no zees around after. ive seen those tiny hordes running across the landscape in the past.... prob looking for you :P
I never broke anything with the ropes, but I have a tendency to fall off the temporary steps I build to finish the 2nd floor.
walkways are my nemisis... nemisi.... er... pain. before i clued in to make the railings walls I would always, and i mean always accidentally hit 'use' and vault over the railing to my broken bone waiting for me below. happened a few times at windows with ropes too. lets just say my hand coordination is not the best. even keymapping use in a weird place didnt help much

Do you realize we could spend the next ten hours just talking about this one aspect alone? :P

yaaah. :P I am going to build one set of stairs to knock down later so I can put a freak out spot on the roof of one of those fenced warehouse places. in case of it being overrun, one entrance so I would be trapped. still, im nervous, going to make sure to have splints on the ready adn lots of food and books nearby. metalworking is very wonky but fun, made my 1st metal wall yesterday. which is totally worthless as im not leveled enough for a door/window option yet. still, its a metal friggin wall. feels very walking deadish

that's kind of what I did here, on my last playthrough, which was also the last update before this most recent one.

ooo, you took screenshots. nice. look at all those ropes! you must be confident. I dont recognize that place, its not in muldraugh i think. i like it alot, very nice. being a girl, i cant help but drag in curtains and flower bouquets and even transplant flowers from tiles :D

qstn: why am i taking damage and getting pain now when just walking round inside houses? is it they coded damage from dropped items like tin cans or getting splinters from crafted low level doors?

that might be the last update OR your character. Depending on your attributes you might heal slow, fast, or not as all, then of course you have the problem of infection.

When I have broken bones I learned to make a balm. It only takes like level one of medicine (one book). Get the necessary stuff to make it and apply it with a bandage, change it regularly, and if it's your leg try not to walk too much. It won't heal instantly but it will heal quicker.
I havent done the crafted foraging meds yet, I cant find any books for recipes, perhaps the recipes show as you level? i have foraged in the past but it never seemed too handy. does the ability to harvest the hebs come from foraging or is it a separate skill?

anywho, i guess i can look it all up on the wiki. cheers mate

I TOTALLY FORGOT!

A SPLINT! :P

You need a splint or will only get worse. I don't know if you need any medical knowledge to make a basic one, just some sticks and rope.
i never leave home without a splint plus full on medical bag, full of everything you need for wounds, boredom, depression, sleeplessness and so on and so on. in fact, i carry too much of it around but i just cant whittle it down anymore. im par.a. noid man...... heh
you two make me really want to just fire it up and play a bit

but when there is something as major as no NPCs in the game and they are going to put NPCs in the game, I can't help but think how it might be weird to experience the switch and just want to play with NPCs

but...but...hmmm...totally different experience it will be...hmmm

ok...I'm going to install and play the new update...

should I play with gamepad or keyboard+mouse?

controller doesn't seem to want to work

how the hell do you play with a game pad?

I can't even imagine placing walls like that, not to mention constantly watching over light switches, window shades, batteries, checking food, crops, water barrels.

you may be dissappointed as the only updates going on now are metalworking (which is pretty cool tho), stoves /fireplaces can be used now, some other small improvements. some things are borked now such as not being able to craft most items without the ingredients in your bags (instead of standing next to them, cooking works tho)

my char got bit finally, it was glorious. with no exp in firearms I grabbed all the ammo I could and spent my dying days making the undead pay... PAY I SAID.... left a trail of bloody gore from one end of the town to the other. then shut my dying body inside a safehouse, drank some bleach and died with honor.

heh. good times

so I started a new char in a zone Ive never been before, westpoint? not one warehouse to be found and im surrounded with a ton of zees that have been building up since infection began. no axes, only a crappy baseball bat that even with spikes took 6 whacks to bring down one zee. really hard mode. after a week I finally found a hardware store and that sorted out my ax prob. the zees here are very aggressive, much more than muldragh. its been a nice refreshing change, tho very hard.

hehe! nice!

I ran around for a couple hours, collected materials and goods and whacked some zombies, but, there wasn't really any driving force for me and I got bored a bit. I guess I should just collect some things and try and travel? Exploring house after house after house and finding a bazillion things gets boring after not long, especially when there's no immediate need for the stuff, soo I'm just kind of piddling around for a while. Maybe I should speed up the time lapse a bit.

Have you ever played it before?

If you sit around doing nothing you're fucked. You need to haul ass and get set up so you aren't forced to scrounge when the baddies start coming in greater and greater numbers. Building a barricade is a lot easier when you aren't constantly fighting off Zed. :P

And early on you are going to depend on scavenging from homes and stores. The more time that passes the more infested those become. Wait too long and you won't be able to get the supplies you need.

That screen shot of mine up there, I had most of that done within the first few days, and I needed it.
TBH most of those walls are needless because I got rid off all the steps and Zed can't climb, but it keeps me from walking off the edge. :P
